Motorcycle MOT

Just wondering if i could get it done anywere or does it have to be bike specific test center?
smiled:).

It has to be bike specific, Try Airport Motors, Colnbrook Bypass, SL3 8QQ

I guess they have different fascilities at bike centers?

shane, just over catford bridge passed halford then turn left into the arches, tis where i tak my bikes, roger hollinshead he’s ok for mot’s etc.

They are a bit out of your way:

But give them a call and ask to speak to Brian, tell them you’re from LB and they will give you a discount.

Great people there, and on here as well.

Used to know “a bloke” in Walworth that did them by post. Don’t think he’s still in the business though. I blame this DVLA computer stuff.

Of course, he might do them by email these days.

AIrport motors, eh ? what are they like for ‘fruity’ cans ? they’re only 5 mins from me

did you get this sorted yet, try watling tyres in catford, they did mine a couple of weeks ago

My first MOT is coming up next month, anyone know a decent place in South London or Surrey? I got a small plate but no loud can etc.

In my experience the can isn’t the issue (as long as it’s stamped) but you DO need a proper size plate to get the nice green form

they dont need to have the kite mark or other such stamp.law changed a couple of years ago.

OK fair do’s - however I think the proper size plate really is a must …

the size or the plate seems to depend where you go, but a normal size plate is a lot cheaper than buying another pipe. i would change the plate to a legal size.

OK about the plate, was going to change it anyway as been pulled twice already in just over a year. Where can I get a MOT for my bike in South London or Surrey?

as i said earlier try watling tyres in catford which is in south london

Ive always used SGT Motorcycles in south wimbledon for mots and stuff. Just dont talk to pete

Once watched a guy pull into Watling Tyres, pull a full size plate and two elastic bands from his bag and fix one plate over t’other.

Rode out with his MoT and the plate back in his bag. The test is (was) for the bike “as presented” or some such.

Probably get a fail now as the elastic bands changed the plate but a couple of bits of double sided tape would be o.k.

as long as it dont fall of it will be ok
