My friends hired a VFR to take around Europe for a few weeks. The guy was very pleasant to deal with and let me sit on the new R6 and GSXR that he also had in the garage. Well reviewed on Google too. They are based out in Brentwood. Not easy to spot the tiny sign on the road leading to them.

I have had great experiences with these guys - http://www.roadtrip.uk They have some great bikes and are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. They go the way extra mile by adding little touches (such as helping with route planning, suggesting stop off points etc). Well worth a look at their website.

City bike service used to hire bikes when they were based in Shoreditch (it was about 5 years since I used them), I seem to remember they were pretty cheap ‘commuter’ type bikes rather than anything exotic. They’ve moved onto the highway now, about halfway between tower bridge and the limehouse link.

I used igo-wego when mine got nicked last year. They only do 50’s and 125’s though. Prices were manageable and they bring the bike to you. Costs include all insurance etc.

Because my bike is getting repaired and they don’t have a courtesy bike for me they said I can hire a bike and claim it against the insurance claim

Just be careful with that, and do more due dilligence with your insurance etc... there's been a lot of cases of people taking hire bikes, only to be lumbered with the costs... 

Can’t remember the exact reasons but I remember the reactions…
