MetalRed and me are considering Assen this year.
Looks like we’ve found a hotel in the Drenthe region not
too far from the circuit and will probably do Dover - Calais.
Anyone going and/or recommend a route?
I did this last year, and would thoroughly recommend it.
We decided to go Harwich - Hook Of Holland and did a couple of days before and after in the Dam. Was a brilliant trip.
1000’s of bikes in attendance. The ride back from Assen to Amsterdam after the event was awesome, with general public lining the roads/bridges for miles on the route between Assen and Amsterdam.
Me too, and going again this year.
FYI The Hook to Harwich Ferry back (Sunday) claims to be sold out already.
We are staying in Groningen and taking the train to the track (it is easy).
That sounds good I should really get a proper look at it this year. I’ve done both Eurotunnel and Ferry Hook of Holland - Harwich. If you are travelling to Holland the ferry is a lot less effort. It’ll save you putting 200+ relatively boring miles on your bike each way on the continent. You could plan an interesting route but if you just want to get there definitely consider the ferry.
