In the race that Martinez made his debut was Eugenio Lazzarini, who made his GP debut in the 125cc race at Monza in 1968, a race in which Phil Read finished 2nd.
Read made his GP debut at the 1961 IOM TT, and in that race was Arthur Wheeler.
Arthur Wheeler raced in the first ever GP - the 350cc race in the IOM in 1949.
Rossi, Martinez, Lazzarini, Read and Wheeler - 5 riders spanning the whole of GP history.
