motocross boots

Bought a pair of Oxtar motocross boots and wore them for the commute in today on the DRZ, bloody hell how do people ride in them! Couldn’t get my toe under the shifter, no feel for the back brake and ended up stamping the down shifts. Anyone who saw me ride probably thought I was an absolute idiot with missed shifts, sliding the back when braking and lets not even start with the stupid walk.

So options are move the shifter up on the spline and get a longer shifter, however I want to wear my sports boots as well and can see that upshifts are going to be an arse due to the greater distance. Defo feel more secure/safer with them on but can’t imagine them as a everyday boot any thoughts…

They will soften and get better more comfy with time

Give them time mate  i have the same boots but them sm sole and even find them easy to use on mis mad-dogs sv650.
Bcr this Sunday?

It’s these ones, and really hope that they do loosen/break in as at the moment I’ve zero flex in the foot. Will walk around the house and do the gardening in them then!!

No BCR for me at the moment, Sunday’s have been constantly booked up with family commitments. Maybe next weekend though as I did buy this thing to do some and the weather doesn’t get much better for it. Will ping you to see who is out to play next week, you guys still trying to leave at 8am from the roundabout??

So doing a spot of greenlaneing then, eh? :stuck_out_tongue:

No help now you have the Oxtars but boots with ankle pivots like these …

… are considerably more comfortable than the rigid variety. I’ve been using Sidi Flexforce, the forerunner of the Crossfire, for years and wouldn’t switch! They were comfy from the off and very reassuringly protective. (I always seemed to damage a foot/ankle in an off - these made all the difference.) Downside is they’re eye-wateringly expensive - and they aren’t waterproof!
