Hey all, need an MOT and the last place I used were really rubbish.
Can anyone recommend a good place to get an MOT done in South London before I have to start ringing round random places that I haven’t used before?
Ideally they’ll offer that pre-service where they look the bike over and tell you what might need to be done to be sure it passes… but if that isn’t available just somewhere that’s reliable and not ludicrously over-priced…?
How far south do you wanna go? I use the bloke opposite Brands, Its miles away from me but he don’t mind all the questions about getting a fighter through. He looks a bit like Frankenstein and I don’t think he blinked once all the time I was there.
Was hoping I wouldn’t be needing to strap a spare fuel tank on just to get there… there’s gotta be something closer to Brixton/Streatham Hill/SW2 surely…
Lol, use to use them yrs ago when the old asian bloke was there, he used to rock ya wheel side to side turn ignition key and then write out your mot, sweet.
Those guys at Russells are something else… I’ve never been to a garage before and had a conversation… best I’ve had to date is “Grunt, whaddya want grunt, (work work work) gimme lots of money!”
The twins at Russells are our regular Mechs, they are top lads and only being literally round the corner from where we live they are always very accomodating (and openon a Saturday morning so briiliant for picking up or dropping off at the weekend). They don’t mind you hanging around and they have the cleanest workshop I have ever seen :w00t: thier grandfather founded the business and it has moved through two more generations, I remember my dad taking me there for parts for his bike when i was about 8 years old the good old days
No probs mate, great mechs and knowledge of old bikes is second to none,Maybe they should go on a london biker female run with all that OLD BIKE experience…
I was pretty impressed with Chasbikes on Great Suffolk street and pretty near Southwark tube. Also used Scooterworks up near Bermondsey last year and they were excellent (and yes they do MOT big bikes!).
