MOT HELP

Morning all, i need a bit of advice , ive just brought a Honda C90 for the winter months , bike is due a MOT but i was wondering if a working battery is needed for a pass ? the bike starts fine and all the lights work when the engine is running ,after charging the battery overnight it seems its knackered ,so is one needed or not ?

Cheers Mick

It’s probably worth calling the MOT place beforehand to confirm, but I assume a battery isn’t needed as a lot of the old bikes & scoots don’t have any battery.

My old vespas never had any, and I know a lot of people who never bother fixing a knackered battery on the newer PX-es as it’s just as easy to kickstart and cheaper.

imho, if the bike has it, it needs to work.

if it doesnt have it ??:w00t:

you dont need a good battery but lights/horn ect must work while the bike is running

All done, it sailed through , thanks for the replys , i didnt realise how scary these things are to ride ! :w00t:

Might be a bit scarey to start with, but what a friggin legend of a bike.

If the Ford model T got the western world into cars, the C90 got the rest of the world mobile.

That said, you have to be particularly skint not to buy a battery. Everything is so cheap for a C90 compared to bits for most “serious” bikes.

Your right there, i read somewhere that the sales of the C90 make the VW Beetle look like a drop in the ocean

Parts are so cheap as you say ,but as it all works without a battery i thought whats the point in coughing for something thats not needed,on top of all that £15 for a years tax! :w00t:
