I dont know if many of you are self employed but a friend of mine has just had his eyes opened. two years ago he took out his mortgage and a mpp to safe guard him from no work. only to find out now that it is only valid if he is declared bankcrupt or employers write letters confirming that they cannot employ him due to no work ?. he paid £90 per month for two years only to be told by the bank staff member that he would be better off not paying that.
Yeah sorry - thanks for the heads up - This subject winds me up as the banks are always trying to flog me protection for stuff which I’m already technically protected for already - or schemes that amount to sweet f.a. when you actually need them.
I used to work as a debt collector after working for them I don’t bother with insurance anymore it is over priced and is almost impossible to get money out of people.
Also, for those who want to know the ones you get on credit cards and personal loans are proper poo cos if you lose your job if you manage to get them to pay they will only pay the minimum amount for 12 months so if you cannot find another job your screwed either way.
I had payment protection on a natwest loan a few years ago and they paid out Ok with no questions asked, I just had to send them a copy of my jobseekers stuff each month.
