Moral dilemma - would you lie to get free use of a 2010 GSXR-750 courtesy bike for 24 hours?

Dropped my bike off for a service this evening with Premier Suzuki in West Wickham, when I noticed a new SV650 courtesy bike sitting outside and I realised I happened to have my driving licence on me. I asked them if I could use a courtesy bike, they said fine, I asked what they had and they said anything I like, and they were all 2010 models :w00t: Pretty well Suzuki’s full range :DImmediately went into “child in candy shop” mode and asked if they had a GSXR-1000. They didn’t, but they did have a brand new GSXR-750. I said that’ll do nicely and take your time over the servicing of my Bandit.

Oh by the way, they said, you have to store it overnight in a brick-built garage, an insurance requirement. D’oh, I don’t have one of those, I always park my bike in the front garden, almaxed to a ground anchor, very secure, never had a problem. They said I take the risk and if the bike gets stolen, it’s not insured and I’m liable for the full cost.

After much deliberation I decided against having a sleepless night worrying or trying to fit the Gixxer into the front room, so we ended up on the 119 bus home.Now I’m starting to feel those little twinges of regret…:hehe:

you FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL:D:D:D:D:D

You should have just necked a load of speed and spent the whole night riding it like you stole it! :smiley:

I would have done it i think… taken the chance, depends what bike you were leaving for servicing? :slight_smile:

you have an almax and a ground ancor and you opted not to take the bike…a brand new 750…for one night…

if you park it in your house you’ll most likely invalidate your house insurance, but what are the chances of it spontaniously catching fire etc.

park it in your hall!

You should have taken it for an overnight spin to cornwall and called in sick the following day.

I know, I know, I should have done it. I’ll know for next time - always book the day off when I’m having the bike serviced, and ride it to Inverness and back :hehe:

Somewhat different experience to the courtesy bike I borrowed from Lamba about a year ago or so - a manky old GS500, at least 10 years vintage, and not well looked after (but at least it was a bike).

A 2007 Bandit 1250SA, 30k miles on the clock and valued around £6k less than a Gixer 750 :w00t:

I’d have liked to have said yes myself in that situation but sod’s law would dictate that it would have been gotten to by some light fingered scumb bag. If it wasn’t for bad luck I’d have feck all luck :w00t:

They must be minted to have one as a courtesy bike, my local dealers couldn’t even offer me a demo on one:w00t:

what a cracking shop that is, I had to go in with my tail between my legs once as i needed a part for my kwak which I thought they might stock as was a pretty simple part, they didn’t but the still had time to help me find someone who did…

if I ever own a suz I will defo be going there to get it looked after cracking set of people in there for sure

i would have rammed it through the front door into the house:) but i got one anyway and at my old place it did go in through the front door coz when i knocked the wall down and put a gate on it the poxy residents did nt like it so had the choice of leave it out the front of the house and have sleepless nites( it was swanscombe) or have it indoors

smart man!

i wouldnt have taken the risk, not where i live anyway…txtPost_CommentEmoticon(‘:D’);

could have had the SV at least if that went missing you wouldnt have had to pay tooooooooooo much

LMHO:w00t: :hehe::hehe: GREAT STUF
