Morning all!
CONFIRMED DATE 17th MAY
http://londonbikers.com/forums/855647/midnight-ride-out-28-08-11?PageIndex=16
Recently we dusted off some pictures on Facebook of the Midnight Rideout in 2011 which was hosted by the lovely Carmen. It was a mini tour of London including stop off’s at some iconic landmarks. We set off from Regents Park at Midnight and I think finished around 4am at the 24hr Bagel shop in Brick Lane. There were a good few comedy moments and some big crowds to see 30 odd bikers cruise around the city at night.
I am putting myself forwards for organising something this year (once the weather has improved). Open to all not just LB.
It’ll be a saturday night so everyone can adjust their body clocks for a night out and am happy to take suggestions on stop off’s. What I have already done is discussed with OMC at the idea of us starting off there with a quick brew. They are more than happy to do this.
I’d say the aim is to go over as many bridges and tunnels in London. So a zig-zag type route
I know I’d like to do Frith Street, maybe heading north over Waterloo Bridge so we get to go through that tunnel up to Holborn (the acoustics are a delight).
Those with a go-pro or camera are a must!
Let me know your thoughts!
UPDATE 16/05/2014
List of stop off Locations:
- OMC - Wandsworth Road - MEET UP POINT 15-17 Clyston St, London SW8 4TT Please get there for 23:30 hrs
- Buckingham Palace/Pal Mal
- Frith Street (will ride through, not enough space to park up)
- London Eye
- St Pauls Cathedral
- Brick Lane - Bagel Shop
- Canary Wharf
- McDonald’s on Trafalgar Way
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fast rideout, due to lots of traffic lights, a mixture of riders (i.e. learners, newbies, experienced), a lot of riders in condensed space and also speed cameras. If you’re wanting a mad dash this won’t be for you!!
Also we will NOT be using cornerman as it is too dangerous for a large group however if someone wishes to tailgun that would be most appreciated
CONFIRMED DATE 17th MAY try to get to OMC around 11:30pm / 11:45pm (night of the 17th so Satuday night to Sunday morning!)
