Michelin Pilot Power Tyre Pressures

my bike says i should be running 42 on the rear and 36 on the frontwhat does everyone run on? road and track use.

Not really relevant, but guess what? I got a puncture in my rear…getting fed up of these tyres

hahaha, stop riding in the gutter/grass/hedge then!! is that more money you need to borrow from ally?

Hopefully just a plug

you better hope it is. how many miles was that one?

its because they are soft’ish …try conti attacks…and as said stay out the crap when filtering, harder compound tyres will help…

i had 2 rear pilot power 2CT’s in one summer, equated to around 7 punctures i think:D

pressure wise…all bikes are diffrent, but on track drop the pressure a bit= added grip and less liekly to slide;)

i ran 32 front and 36 rear on them last year

200

i got the pilot road 2 on those pressures.

36/42 front and rear too on mine

hmm pressure wise i think on track it was summti like 28/30

and on road i normally run 34/36…where you guys gettign 42 from!?

and remember warm tyres mean increased PSI

That’s what the local dealer told me when they changed my tyres

Also I’m running Dunlops, should’ve mentioned that too

I’m running BT-021 and they say on the sidewall 42 front and 42 rear cold pressure, but i tend to run at around 38 font and 40 rear

hahaha, stop riding in the gutter/grass/hedge then!! is that more money you need to borrow from ally?

Dare I ask if it is a plug that you want to borrow…:w00t:

i got diablo pirelli on the rear 42 bridgestone front 42 in both

my cb500 was bridgestones both the rear was 36 the front was 29

Try the harder compound Pilot Road 2 on the rear with the Power 2CT on the front.

You don’t lose anything from what I’ve found running this set up on my GSX-R 1000 for a year, but I also found the Pilot Road 2s to be more puncture resistant and longer lasting.

Hoping not to have to change the tyre, but will keep that in mind!

its what it says on the sticker on the chain guard

since when did the bike determine what pressure you run? i thought it was more down to the tyre manufacturer?

when i had my SV650 suspension set up by B, he rekoned 34-36 if i remember right, and they were michelin pilot power 2CT’s.

too higher a PSI could i think in high temps, lead to a blow out…also with a high tyre pressure if your pushing it your more likely to have a slide.
