Mayoral elections

Boris will be getting my vote as he’s for bikes in bus lanes among other reasons, am yet to decide on my backup candidate. The bookies are giving him odds-on too.

It’s about time there was a thread on this subject :D:D:D

TBH if it’s not on the front page I’m not trawling through the backlog to check.

i voted for borris at 7:05am

Im all for Boris, but like you Vegas am undecided about my second choice. I find it difficult to vote for someone just for the sake of it and I don’t really rate any of the other candidates. Brian Paddick may be of some use due to his background he may assist in better policing of London (lets just hope that’s not more speed cameras). Anyone any views on the candidates?

boris voter here

the bloke sat opposite me in the office is vote for Ken  lets just hope he’s the only one.

Boris got my vote

my second vote might be for the ukpi ones or libdems

Im in the know - even under Ken bikes will not be allowed in bus lanes - not anytime soon anyway.

Bigoted?:doze:

Out-of-touch?

Right-wing?

Indecisive?:ermm:

Supports bikers in bus-lanes!

I was the first person in to vote this morning at my polling station. Boris got my vote, Libdem second as they go for bikes in bus lanes too and other good policies. Main thing is to get the power mad lunatic out of power. Boris will be good for London

You’ve lost me completely.

Voting for Boris is like voting for George Bush. What are you people playing at.

The man is a moron. And a dangerous one at that… he ONLY came to the public’s attention because of his insensitive stupidity which was regularly ridiculed on Have I Got News For You. This is like voting for Jade Goody cos she lost weight.

Please don’t make me explain this all over again.

He’s a Tory
He’s an idiot
He’s insensitive
He’s incapable of managing himself publically, so how he’ll run a city that’s home to 10,000,000 people from all sorts of backgrounds is beyond me.
He’s undiplomatic.
He doesn’t even know what his own political message is.

You lot are living proof that Reality TV has made Britain stupid… you’re voting to give an idiot power because of a popularity contest… NOT because he’s capable of doing it…

PLEASE DON’T VOTE FOR BORIS.

Its like putting your hand up and saying, I want an idiot to make decisions about my future.

What are you lot thinking?

You’ve sold him to me.:stuck_out_tongue:

4/6 of those points apply to Ken as well…not much of a choice we poor Londoners have eh?

So who are you voting for then Toby, the Green Party?

Toby- The way I see it is the mayor is the figurehead. If allied to a political party ‘his’ decisions are made along party political lines. The Tories think that even Boris as Conservative mayor would be good news for them- fine. But if your analysis of the man is correct he’ll be anything but that and in a couple of years time he’ll be booted out. What about the policies? Well from what I can see there is nothing in his manifesto that would scare off a natural labour voter and he can’t really start behaving like the Tories-of-old now can he?

+1:)

Oh come on Toby . . . not this again :stuck_out_tongue: . . . a vote for Boris is a vote for common sense, he may not be a master of diplomacy but at least he’s not a racist like Ken Livingstone and he and his team have some genuinly good ideas.

A vote for Ken is a vote for anti-bike, more speed scameras, more bus lanes, slower traffic, higher congestion charges and a seriously screwed up London . . . how can you possibly vote for him ?

I’ve voted for Boris for two reasons,

  1. I can’t stand Ken

  2. No doubt Boris will mess it up completely, hopefully to the extent that the powers that be will decide that it’s pointless having a mayor and then the whole thing can be done away with
Oh and I’ll save money on my council tax!

I’m voting for Boris in the hope it leads to that **** Ken being booted out of office.
