PMSL boxing has nothing over martials arts
i love the way he fights

Boxing is not to be underestimated, it’s a very disciplined form and i’d rate a boxers physical fitness far higher than that of a regular martial artist.
Has anyone had any experience with Krav Maga? I’ve heard good things, and the Israelis don’t tend to feck about when it comes to a scrap.
As a sport it’s open for discussion.
You said you were talking about knocking someone out / imobilising them.
Blunt trauma to the head. So I disagree.
This person doesnt need to know martial arts baseball bitch
a blunt blow to the head you say
I did Krav Maga for a while until I had to give up because of my broken arm. I want to start again soon now that the arm is almost back to normal.
It’s not considered a martial art, they call it a “close combat technique”, Most techniques are based on several martial arts forms, but adapted to be used in real life scenarios.
It’s not pretty or stylish or spiritual or anything, but it’s your best bet out of a nasty situation apart from being able to run really fast.
That said, I didn’t do it for a self defense reasons, I find it just a great sport and the good thing for me is that you don’t have to be so disciplined as with martial arts, you can train as much or little as you like, and if you skip a while, it doesn’t matter.
I used to do Lin Kuei Kung Fu for a few years in South Norwood. Tried kick boxing before that but found it too power-building for my taste
Ive done abit of shotokan karate, kickboxing, judo and boxing.
I got gold in the novice under 67kg at the army judo championships in 2005. Not competed in any of the others but im taking up boxing again as i prefer it to judo and as far as im aware they dont do kickboxing in the army. I would like to take up muay thai aswell
trained in shotokan karate, judo, wing chun and kempo (mma). plus the occasional meet up on a sunday to mix things up a bit
my late father taught wing chun(kung fu), i never got into it, i was thinking about trying kickboxing, a mate at work does it, his missus is british champion severla times i think, he rekons i have the perfect build for it:D
a mate of mine and fellow LB’er fightd in wing chun tournaments;)
well top this my dad used to go to school with bruce lee has him in his yearbook and everything:cool:
I practice and teach Hapkido
lol you lot are wrong lol
I train 2 days a week doing Muy Thai. Just starting my 2nd year in it. Teaches you alot.
wah! that is kool!
my dad idolised bruce lee, when he was with my mum, we lived in the flats the whole of the halway was all chinese themed! fighting swords and other weapons on the walls!
from what i know, my dad was taught in chinatown in soho, by a chinese chap, he started at 14 and was still doing it at 26-27, he used to practice, but he got bit lost later in life.
Where do you do that?
Stonebridge, bridge park complex
Ask any martial artist what is most likely to win in a street fight and Boxing is right up there at the top.
Mostly I like peace and love, violence is for the stupid, defence o.k, I prefer the blocks in martial arts than the hits.
Nothing is stronger than the use of mind, I much prefer a verbal attack to create humiliation than hitting somebody. My mother made a 5th year boy pass out when she kicked him out of her library (she was the librarian at school). He was mucking about so she told him to leave, on his way across the library she made him feel so silly and embarressed by the time he reached the door he passed out.
She felt bad but that is the closest I have ever heard someone pulling the 5 paces and die…hahaha
Grew up with that and love her more for it, true skills…
Saying that, if it comes down to it I’ll bite your F**ing eye…:w00t:
Bit far over for me to go training, arwel still got my boxing
Used to train in Tae Kwon Do a few years back and got to Brown Belt/Red stripe - A change in jobs made going to classes impossible, nothing more local so gave it up. Still practice at home with the stair banister which is really loose now but still holding up. The training also included various other self defense techniquie including boxing and was great fun, semi contact most of the time but we all had our moments!!
I think my bones and joints are too old for the competitive stuff now!
good to see so many people have trained or are training. martial arts are great for teaching you discipline, respect and control. something sincerely lacking in todays society
