well as the report from Brands on the 28/01 wasn’t too good I’ve booked Mallory Park on Sunday instead. weather forecast say’s sunny all weekend so here’s hoping for my first taste of a dry trackday from the off.

what a day! lord almighty was it cold though! dry and sunny bar a brief flutter of snow in the morning (postponed the start till 1100hrs) and during the last session (cutting this short).
managed to finally get round to getting an instructor to check on my riding.
good things were he was impressed and said i was quick and smooth. nice confidence boost. also found out about the little lugs on the base of the standard pegs. apparently these are dangerous and can catch on things when leaning over, anyone else found this out? i’ll be taking them off, better safe then sorry.
bad things, i think there were too many of us on track at any one time. there was 35-40 odd on a 1.3 mile course. once i overtook others it was quick to catch up another bunch (we had 3 bunches at a time). just seemed to me as too many on at once. but at the end of the day its not competitive and i still really enjoyed it. oh and did i mention it was cold! lol
things to work on, the instructor mentioned i get my knee out, then backside, then my shoulders/head/elbow may or may not follow. apparently due to this instead of my knee getting closer to the ground it was actually moving back in towards the frame! lol. anyhow been told to try get head/shoulders/elbow out first followed by backside then knee, this should get the knee moving towards the ground and not back in.

sounds like a good, if cold, one! congrats on the riding compliments too. prob doing brands end of feb as closer to me - mallory’s a good 2 hrs away. also rockingham on sat 27th march - maybe see you back there? somewhat drier hopefully!
