Made to measure leather

has anybody had leathers made to measure recently?

I am looking for black ones, but all the women’s stuff has colour in somewhere or the other.

Wolf do nice ones but I don’t think they do anything for women?

I can’t praise Hideout Leathers enough:)

Excellent service, super quality and a nice cup of tea:cool:

isn’t there another company called FJK or similar that do made to measure too? Obviously BKS and Crowtree are tops but very expensive and there’s my faves Scott Leathers (supplies to most racers in the BSB prggram) who are based oop north but will take measurements over the phone.

I would never by off the peg for my ‘performance’ wear, only my daily kit that takes a right bashing and perhaps I’m lucky to be a fairly std fit anyway.

Do some Google’ing hon, there will be a company you can go to for this. Chunky’s suggestion is all good too

Sherrie(Shewolf) has Wolf leathers, you might be able to pick up a set in a sale and with the money you save pay Sam(Wasp) to alter them to fit you better?!?

Could be noticeably cheaper than having a set made from scratch…

Thanks guys, nice cup of tea sounds good too.

Hideout are they the ones in Saffron Walden? The piccies of made to measure look a bit funny??? I expect it’s just the pics?

Shewolf’s are made to measure and so are my wolf leathers. You can pick colours and amount of built in protection. You’ll need to go to harpers race shop (one in East London and one near southend) to get them done as the guy that started wolf sold the brand but is still allowed to make made to measure ones which he does out of harpers.

Yep, up there somewhere, I’ve been a couple of times and just stopped short of buying something, just seems a bit excessive to have a new set made when I have a perfectly good set already. When you see them in the flesh and feel them they are so much better than anything I’ve seen in a shop, just the quality of the leather alone is clearly superior even to an untrained eye, my Dainese feels like a cheap import compared to their leathers.

Wolf are v.good:D and dianese are’nt as good cos they are MASS produced;) NOT made to measure and fit YOU:crazy:

Wherever you go to get a set made ask to check the grade Quality of the leather they use if its supple and feels thin then it’s cheap and nasty and will rip the minute it touch’s tarmac!

There is a friend of mine in Wigan that makes them to measure and only uses the toughest materials, look through her website http://www.joydaleathers.com/ and if you want to call her, ask for Nicki and tell her I sent you, she’ll look after you.

Yes thats them:)

Kate and her gang produce top quality kit and make the whole experience a pleasure.

I heard that Crowtree are packing up and so are MW in Weat Ham.

hi there try harpers. there is one in forest gate east london or leigh on sea.

theses guys make the wolf suits they quoted me £500 for a 2 piece suit which aint bad for MTM suit

Blimey thats cheap!:w00t:

Does that include armour etc?

yes mate

its a basic suit,wolf nimbus i think

yeah it is cheap.

and im a big lad thats lots of leather i rekon a couple of cows to cover my fat arse LOL:D

mw are packing up

dude they have been there for years.when i went up there last year there was about a 6 month wait

The story has it that they are finishing their contract with the Met and then the shutters are going up.:doze:

My one piece was only 550 and has more armour than you can shake a stick at :o) (As I said earlier, you get to choose the protection you want. I asked for a couple of extra bit that weren’t in the suit mine was based off)

Thanks, I’ll give Harpers and Hideout a try, can’t believe it, worked in Hinxton for a year (just around the corner from Hideout) and it’s my last day today and I never went there, doh

550 for a one piece with armour sounds pretty good to me.

Oi Chunky…just had a cuppa and a chat with micheal of mw leathers and he’d like to know who told you he was shutting shop? he reckons it’ll be a couple more years before he retires:D but he is still doing the met stuff and any other orders for stuff has to work around that.

I’m sorry WASP, I was just passing on what I was told by TWO different sources in the trade.

The fact he no longer has a website does help fuel the rumours as well.

It’s good to see he is carrying on at the moment, if I’d have known that I may have gone there instead of Hideout:hehe:
