Lusty is looking for a new ride

theres a reason why gixers have held at least 3 of the top 5 spots it the best selling bike charts for many years…

ok ok i know i may be bias…

but the truth is 750’s are easyer to ride than 600 and 1000…

600’s need reving 1000’s… well they demand trottle control…

yes you need to thrash a 750 but you can be lazy and ride the torque like 1000 riders do to…

its all up to you hun.

Not many people buy a bike just coz its good or envolving to ride, looks play a good part.

but on the whole people buy a 750 coz its a 750 and it IS the ultimate balance of power and handling…

will i doo hun?

honestley…everything that adam says is right on the money…750’s are in a place of there own hun…

if you dont beleive me…have a go on mine…but remember…you break…you buy…lol…

…join the gixxer club hun…we’ll make a hooligan out of you yet!!!.

biased smiled.

Adz is it you I keep bumping into…Nice to meet you at Metropolis tonight…Shame neither of us walked away with the 07 R1.

About bikes…I don’t have a hell of a lot experience but in terms of power, the R1 I own (04) is right on the money…It behaves very similar to an R6 in the lower revs and is very manageable around town.

It handles like a dream like the later R6s, but has better poise in corners as its not as flighty (extra weight is a good thing).

Its not a monster like I believe the ZX10R and the GSX-R 1000 are in lower revs, its very much like the Blade in that respect as it won’t loft the wheel at evert opportunity so gives confidence and is not like riding on a knife edge.

I think it falls in between the Blade and the GSX-R 1000 for on road confidence inspiring…Its one hell of a bike and when you do decide to go for it, a few revs will tell you that Yamaha have designed a beast with a split personality…Only with a few revs (around 7000 does the bike take off like it’s contemporaries.

I believe this aspect makes the 04-06 R1 more like a 750, but with the assurance that if you need it, the power is there.

I’ve riden mine this winter on crappy cold roads and it behaves brilliantly whilst a Gixxer or ZX10 would be spinning up the rear.

I love my bike…Its great.

PS. It’s also pretty much the best looking Japanese bike ever built IMO and has the quality build like you’d expect from a Honda…My bikes kept outside and is washed every now and then…Its still shining after 3 winters.

i have been riding bike for many years, from full production mx bike, road race bikes,i would say the r1 is easier to ride the a gsxr1000,but unless you really need a 1000cc you will never use it as its ment to be used,go for a 750 or a newish 600,you cant go wrong.

most 1000cc riders find it hard to lose a 750/600 on a trackday unless they have a real talent or its there race bike,a good 600 rider will stay up with a 1000 on most back roads/trackdays in the uk.

i find a 600/1000cc v-twin more rewarding to ride on a trackday, its only at the ring and trips abroad that a 1000 comes in handy as you can start pulling wheelies at 70-80mph to cure the boredom.

I think adamH on his GSXR600 and Charliy on his CBR RR are testament that a 600 will keep up with larger cc bikes!!!

i got a gsxr1000 for sale in the classifeds board if its of interest

If you respect your life you have to take it easy on the road so a 600 is as good as a litre bike, if not better.

would be ideal, if she was a complete and utter nutter!

buyit, buyit, buyit, buyit, buyit, buyit, buyit!!!

crescent blueprinted it from new , from memory its 164bhp @ the wheel but its so grunty its unreal , first owner used to be the manager of suzuki motoGP

I tell you that I ride like you’re average wobbler - honest I do

1000cc, I don’t know if I can handle that much power in one go. Hmmmmmmmmmmm…
More than a handfull is a waste, is it not? [giggle].

obviously id like to sell u my 1000 and there silly easy to ride

but i really would take a look at the k1-present gixxer 600s , brilliant bikes , 750 is even better

Want a new bike? Apparently there are Beemers washing up here -

Hehehehe…

Get a GSXR, I got my K3 1000 for £4200. And the K3s and K4s are the same thing, model only changes with the K5 and K6.

But go for a 750 like everyone said, I only got a 1000 cos im a big dude and cos it was a specially modified one that I could not resist!

haha, nice one babe! did you get the black & white one?

hehehe, yes I did. I’m trying to pick it up before the St David’s Day Rideout

I know it’s ages ago, but my friend got one of these… lucky bugger.
Not benefits she gets living down in devon, so was like a treasure chest and all…

funniest thing was there were loads sex toys on the boat which obviously didn’t get mentioned in the papers or on the news, but you could see rabbit vibrators floating around in the sea…

It was hilarious, especially one guy i saw running off with a blow up doll !!

Anyone else get anything off the ship ?

Very nice… i have had a few dreams about that bike/colour… Some would call it sad… id settle for obsession!

Not as sad as trawling up two year old threads;)

touche… just seen that.

Just saw the topic on the home page and commented without checking dates… 2 yrs old or not - still a nice bike and compliment still holds.
