OK chaps, it’s that time of year. I’m moving on from my little CBR6 [sob sob] and onto pastures new.
I’ve been initially thinking of a secondhand: GSXR750/R6/R1/Blade/… any other suggestions (budget allowing)?
Also, does anyone know of anyone selling above mentioned bikes for around the £4k mark?

You get to have a really intimate realtionship with your dealer… love/hate kinda thing.
The 750 is the way to go. You’re probably looking at a good K1/2 (post SRAD), possibly K3/4 for that sort of money - they hold their value quite well.
If it’s a gixer, I’d go for K4 upward, blade anything from 929 on and any R1.

Just been offered an R1, 05 plate, 267 dry miles for £4.5k but the owner put up the price to £5k when he heard I was sniffing around

Only one way to go - say zx7r, say Gixxer 750 - ask Adz, me or any other 750 rider - do you really need the extra 250cc, the extra power and the extreme hike in insurance??

If you would like to become a better rider, a modern litre bike would be a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. But if you feel you have to have one, go for the less focused Blade (pre 06) or R1 (04-06).

Whatever you do, do it before January goes South…people start sniffing spring and prices go p automatically…get in the whilst its pissing it down, and you are the ONLY person in the show room…seriously, they’ll throw extras at you. Jan and Feb are rubbish sales months…even if they try and tell you they aren’t. Bargains to be had!
