ok,being laid up,ive had alot of time to ponder on things and ive come to questioning luck…is luck something your born with?..or can you inherit good/bad luck from inanimate objects?can you do or say things that make you unlucky…or even wear clothing to feed the bad luck monster…
The reasoning for this train of thought is this…my leathers…i have worn my spada leathers all threw out last year untill i bought the alpinestars(June this year)…now in these spada leathers, ive had a grand total of seven minor/major accidents in them…and the only reason i wore them latley was becouse i could layer alot of clothing underneath them to keep warm…(also bear in mind the accident i just had i was wearing the spada’s)…
now with the alpinestars, ive not even had a close call in them…not a dicky bird…and ive had them for about 6 mths…see were i’m going?is this a luck thing?..or is it all in my head?..
can anyone out there in the land of the wise shed some light on this matter?
When you are up and about take the spadas into the garden with a sprig of holly up your arse and be naked. Get the mrs to do the same - although something less sharp. Make sure it’s the night of the full moon and slowly walk backwards round the spadas in and anticlockwise direction…
Then take some petrol and burn the old leathers dude.
It’s worth trying anything to rid yourself of this curse…
And getting the mrs naked is one step closer to getting your leg over so a winner on 2 counts!
I don’t believe that you or your leathers (or any inamimate object) are under any curse nor do I believe that you or they carry any bad luck. What I do believe, however, is that God was looking out for you to keep you safe and I personally believe that is why you didn’t come off so much worse than you could have.Just remember not to push it! (Been there myself :Whistling: ).
Shane,It may be that the A’star leathers are so bright n new - people see you!
Obvious I know! - try a Hi Vis vest too, and you’ll be free of all bike/car/inanimate object interaction - maybe;)Luck? I don’t believe in it - I believe we create our own opportunities (which can be dependent upon our state of mind/ personality/ current situation) If you subscribe to the idea of luck (ie: events are out of my control), then your one step away from fate, and if you believe in fate, you’ve given up shaping your future.Luck is for fairytales - I’m dedicated to creating my own destiny - not allowing chance to take a hand in it. Discuss:)
