Low temp on naked cbr 600 fy (carb'd)

The temp on my cbr is right at the bottom of the temp dial, warms up to maybe 25% of dial after 45 mins and mainly when I’m at the end of the journey, after spending ages filtering and waiting at lights)

Should I be worried that the thermostat is stuck open, or just put it down to the fairings being off?

I would worry about it ,to cold can be as bad as to hot especially if your oil starts to turn into a chocolate milkshake .

nah its fine. if coolant and all that is at correct level

You could try blocking off some of your radiator like taxis do in winter . I used to do that with my GPZ it was the only way to stop the milkshake in the sump .

Or… Why don’t you check to make sure your temp gauge is wired correctly?
I had this problem on my FZR, turned out it was wired wrong, so… cold was being read as hot and hot being read as cold.

After a bit more riding, I think its just the fairings being off, I’ll give the rad a clean and then block of the bit behind the front wheel and see what that does for it.

Dont fancy putting the fairing sides on as I’ve only been able to find the one set in my colour after 6 months of looking on ebay.

Might flush out the coolant and the rad anyway just to be safe.

Any ideas of what to use to block of the rad?

Thanks for the replies

it is cold out there and as you say fairings are off so cooling easier.
