To me it looks like he lost the front end, but how?
Was there gravel or something on the road, couldn’t see any other reason for the front washing out like that, he didn’t appear to be going excessively fast or at a ridiculous lean angle?!?
From the looks of it they were not that confident, very upright posture and not leaning into the corner. Started to run wide and then into the loose stuff on the corner and then bike/rider/gravel interface:crying:
i thnk partially right but i think he panicked and hit the breaks and the bars twisted out of his hands with the wheel and he was off…inexperienced and not concentrating on his own ride…
That’s embarassing!
Ran wide, hit gravel or panic-braked. Wasn’t even going fast!
yep id agree was exactly what i did when i first got my bike :pinch: and ended up with the same result :pinch:
I did it with the school bike
lol so did i actually :w00t:
Ouch…that looks painful - for the bloke and his wallet!
I think most of us have done that at some time, I almost had an off just a few days ago as i braked on leaves…front went, luckily only doing 10 mph or less and managed to save it…phew…right infront of son and his girlie…that would have been embarrassing…
running wide still happens to me sometimes. it’s funny 'cos you know the bike can do the corner, you know you can do it, and then you deconcentrate for a split second and … whoaaa! :w00t:
ouchey! hope he didnt break anything! so just for future reference…if ur running to wide on a corner what do u do?
completely random…but on the playlist after the video finishes playing…on the 3rd page…the last video, i almost shat myself laughing at the title lol:D im sure the person in question didnt find it funny at the time…
lean, lean and lean some more…but dont touch the brakes…and importantly keep looking where you want to go, not where you will come off the road…
Looks like where he came off was a junction with some sort of dirt road to his right, maybe there was something on the surface because of that - mud, gravel, oil? Didn’t seem to do anything obviously daft!
could be…but I think he put the brakes on cause if you watch really closely and pause it just before he goes off his wheel turns in…now that could be grip going or braking but he isnt leaning over very much so i am with braking but gravel and **** could well be it too…he certainly was not planning his bend…watching the guy in front I think more than doing his own ride…
Looks like sh*t on the road, happend to me in Spain
Yeah probably a combination of all, dirt on outside of road, he was running wide, grabs brake, front washes out on gravel.
Did the same on the Kent rideout
And +1 to the advice above about if it happens to you, DONT look into the corner, look down the road, and lean.
doh :pinch:
its better to look at the apex (which on that corner would be a foot+ in from the centre line so you dont clip your head on a car), then lift your vision as you pick the bike up and exit the corner.
clearly on the road you need to balance that with looking ahead enough to work out whether there is road to ride into, and no the back of a bus…:w00t:
