Id say you’d eventualy be disapointed with the power of the DRZ. If your gona be using it for the lanes and the odd bit of trail riding get a 450 exc or even a 525. The RFS engines are pretty damn good contrary to what people keep saying about them. Not sure what you would get for 2k though with SM and dirt wheels. Ive been looking at 450’s for around the 3k-3.5k mark and the average year model that pops up is around 06-07 but there has been a few newer and older ones come up at that price too.
At a rough guess id say you could get a decent 03 one atleast for 2k but that wouldnt be with both sets of rims. But ya never know some realy good bargains to crop up but you have to be quick to catch them.
If you get one too id see if you could get someone like Adz to tag along when you check it out to tell you if its worth it or not
Seems to me RFS motors are pretty much bullet proof if they are looked after reasonably well ;)(As long as they haven’t been tuned through the roof, eg 612/3)
