looking for a kitten

am interested in adopting a kitten! anyone have any that they want to give?? wont call it Zorba (promise)

Not a lot of young pussy around this time of year (or puppies ) they`re only sold into slavery after the new year.

Would be looking to give it a new home in the new year anyway

**My stepson has a little black and white kitten that needs a home she’s sooooo cute i shall find out how old it is very sweet natured and very playful:D **

ive got a cat, shes a bitch. you can take her if you like :stuck_out_tongue:

Battersea dogs home is good place to go after the new year as they are overwhelmed with cats and dogs after christmas. Go and take a look there.

REMEMBER PEOPLE CATS AND DOGS ARE NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS!

If you are serious then why not try the Mayhew in Kensel Rise, I’m sure they’ll have lots of kittens come January!! :frowning:

Look, how cute!!! - http://www.mayhewanimalhome.org/cats/2009/oak/index.php

yep i am serious

Indeed - carved right, they can last well into the new year! :stuck_out_tongue:

I kid, I kid - I’ve got a chosen dog and an adopted cat at home - he adopted us, not the other way around. If I’d known the real costs of adopting a cat, I would have given the 3 quid a week on telly years ago - that’s a bargain at twice the price!

could try gumtree

You getting trained up for having a baby? :w00t:

I’d wait till after christmas. The really sad thing is there will be loads abandoned. :frowning:

its not me that needs the training!

yeah we are off as well so no point getting one now…

cats protection league, their site seems to be up the pictures?

Can I suggest you consider getting a younger cat instead? Everyone always wants a kitten and the older cats, especially Black ones, struggle to find a home.

My daughter helped at the local RSPCA (very fussy about who they will allow to adopt) and they had some great cats, even pedigree ones like Burmese (brilliant cats, we have two of them).

Kittens ARE fun but they grow up quickly…

I really want one with a squashed face i think they’re great!

Small matter of me being alergic to them doesnt help…

I can be whatever you want for xmas honey, meeeooowww :D:D:D

+1 to getting a young cat. Both of mine are rescues, adopted at nine months old. The younger, Betty, is a fluffy black cat, now just over a year old. The older is a tabby and white, now six years old. Got both of them from the Cats Protection League, never looked back.

Although I am looking for a cat sitter the second week in January - I have to be away for work.

Ask PJ to get in touch with James Toseland!

If you’re good at commitment and want a cat for life, I’d definitely get one as soon as it hatches (yeah I know cats don’t hatch…but it sounds better…). I’ve had mine since 1992 when he was barely big enough to fit in my hand. He’s 18 years old shortly and is becoming ill. It’s been fantastic being blessed with animal company. The cat pooh is another matter though. I’d like to bless my neighbour’s garden with that…

Do try the charities first too: they often need a lot of help and support around this time of the year. I read that cats, dogs and horses were being abandoned during the recession due to owners falling into arrears with supporting their animals. It is a lengthy commitment, and it isn’t cheap. At least you won’t come out with a horse if you go and get an animal from the Cats League …

I wonder why black Cats find it difficult to be re-homed? One of my Cats is black and he is absolutely beautiful. Also worth pondering when taking on a Cat or Dog; I got two Kittens when I was 18 and they both died when I was 38. They lived through several girlfriends, one wife, four changes of address and untold cars and bikes. I also lived with them for almost double the time I lived with my parents…
