Looking for a Bike Alarm

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an alarm system for a Honda CBR600RR. Something mid range as they are so many out there not sure what is tried and tested.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys & Gals

HI mate:

This might be useful - http://www.sounddistribution.co.uk/products.asp?category=Motorcycle+Security&subcategory=Alarm+Systems - Being honest, aside from the engine cut-out side of things I’m not sure how much use alarms are anyway. I just had an insurance approved Datatool 4 fitted to my Roadliner for a little over £350.00 and on the two times it’s gone off in public coz I forgot to use the remote no-one took a blind bit of notice! lol. Something with a pager would be cool but they’re not cheap. Maybe a high-end disklock/alarm combination is a better bet than a straight alarm? I’m sure some of the more experienced guys here will offer comments. I’m planning on getting the datatag system shortly as this lets cops check and identify the bike or all the major parts of the bike if it’s broken up.

If it’s the later model with the HISS 2 immobiliser then you could get one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DATATOOL-SYSTEM-2-1-ALARM-HONDA-HISS2-IMMOBILISER-NEW_W0QQitemZ310082291612QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

It upgrades your Cat 2 immobiliser to a Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser. The are a plug in unit so should be simple enough to fit. Alternatively you could get an approved dealer to fit it and you’d get the benefits of it being insurance approved. I spoke to a dealer about it yeasterday and he quoted me 45 minutes to 1 hour labour to fit the upgrade and it would be insurance approved
