At the risk of being called a jammy git, I thought I’d post up photos of my summer trip. I toured the french, swiss and italian alps for 10 weeks to do my favourate 2 wheeled sport, downhill mountain biking…
Car rally through a french village.
The photos pretty much say it all, had a truely great time. Only marred with a bad crash on my penultimate day, fracturing a vertebrate in my back! 4 other mates also broke bones this summer while they rode with me in the alps, so it’s expected!
I did wish I had a motorbike to ride while traveling on the awesome alpine roads, just had a skanky volvo estate :doze:
Blimey, I thought the 6 weeks holiday I had was long, but 10!!! looks like you had a ball and a good job you only hurt yourself at the end of the trip.
10 weeks was so I could do the entire ski lift summer season, it’s a nice thing to knock off the ‘list of things to do’. Doubt I will be able to do a trip like this again but I might work out there next season, only in one resort.
A friend who was going to do the entire trip with me badly broke a finger 5 days in and had to fly home, tragic!
I’m thinking of doing a winter season at some point - before my body gives up completely. Like you say something to tick off the list. In an ideal world I’d like to do back to back seasons, northern then southern hemispheres
The winter season i did a few years back was the BEST thing i ever did… except my DAS of course! You dont really get to know a resort until you live there for a few weeks, which means after a few months you get to find so many cool little runs, cut throughs etc that you’d never now bou on a weeks holiday…
Even better when its Whistler Blackcomb you have to explore!
