So, I’m riding up Avenue Road, north of Regent’s Park, and notice a foot-peg laying in the road ahead. So, I slow down and pull over and see a bike on the pavement, and rider stood with what looked to be an angry driver. I turned my bike around and went to see that the rider was ok and see if they needed any help, only to find a young, french lady who was clearly in shock, and looking a bit intimidated. The driver of the car (that had pulled out in front of her!) seemed to be arguing the toss that she was in the wrong, how he had been indicating to swing right etc… Usual story, he hadn’t checked his mirror’s and had turned right straight into her as she was filtering past. Anyway, I managed to calm him down a bit (funny how he stopped shouting when I got involved! ), and helped the lady out with some advice about getting details and taking photo’s of the minor scratches to his bumper etc… I left her my business card before I left, and said to give me a call if she needed a witness for the damage (the driver had told me that other damage was from another accident!) and just to let me know that she was ok, as she had a rather bad bang to her knee.
So, does anybody know a female, french rider called Emanuelle? She rides a Hornet, which only had the footpeg snapped off and the gear lever bent in. I’m just wondering if she was ok and that she got the bike sorted etc…
If you know her, tell her speedy recovery and hope the knee doesn’t give her too much bother…
Also, big up for Danni (No1SRfan) for stopping to help as well…
Cancel everything! No sooner had I hit the “Post Reply” button, than Emmanuelle text’s me to say that she’s ok and just a little swollen, thank you etc…
Nice 1 RR, a proper gent no less. I live just round the corner from Avenue Rd and have seen shedloads of RTA’s, usually at the Avenue Rd/Adelaide Rd junction.
I think it was the junction of Acacia Rd and Avenue Rd.And the bloke was a bus driver, so he’s probably used to pulling out without looking! :w00t: :P(Apologies to all the bus drivers on here! )
Nice one Nath! when you out and about next? Havnt seen you in ages! Tell them Rich posers to let you off tea duty for a weekend and get your ass out to play
A few years ago there was a girl on a scooter who got knocked over at traffic lights near Waterloo Station. A guy in a big 4x4 had run into the back of her.
It’s funny how his ranting and shouting stopped when about 6 bikers stopped to help her and then stood in front of his car to stop him driving off without giving her his details…
Well, she was actually beyond fit! She was uber-fit!
But, I didn’t see what she looked like until I’d stopped and turned around anyway, due to her and the bike being obscured by tree’s when I went past. I’d have stopped no matter who it was, but it was nice to be of assistance to a beautiful lady!
