London's new worst drivers

We the award must go to those drivers in vehicles with “PREBOOK ONLY” stickers on the back screen.

Watch out for them, you have been warned.

They’re just another form of taxi driver.
At least you can take their reg and report them to the PCO.

Personally, I still get het up about foreigners (specifically Albanians/Nigerians) who buy a car and then just drive without insurance, and who seem to have got their licence out of a box of cornflakes, and are usually armed with at least three false addresses.

They simply have NO conscience, and even less concept of what to use an indicator for.

Don’t need to warn me mate, I’m more than aware of them !

+1!!!

+1

and they usually have their mate take the driving test for them I hear!!!

+1!!!

Its an indication that they will U turn at any time etc

don’t forget they have AMAZING brakes (but the lights don’t work tho)

+1  I nearly got killed by one. I remembered his plate and noted it down somewhere but forgot to report the fecker

+1

Had an “incident” with one of them just the other day.
Now, whenever I see a people carrier with a circular sticker all my alarm bells go off.

Without a doubt private hire drivers are the worst, most inept, least conscious of other traffic road users you’ll find on London’s roads.
I’ve been involved in two accidents with them, both of which occurred purely as the driver was too disinterested to even bother looking in the direction he was travelling.
They’re also lying **** when it comes to insurance claim time…
Anything with a bright yellow sticker in the back window is trouble full stop and you need to give these guys plenty of berth! They make black cabs look very tame, considerate even.
Bus drivers these days aren’t much better mind, and in my mind are even worse for their sheer bloody cockeyness - they seem to think a big red bus gives them the right of way in any situation regardless of whether they’re about to crush you.
I honestly can’t believe the sort of people they let loose in these things, it’s plainly scary when you consider the damage they can do…

I agree but don’t busses have the right of way when pulling out of a bus stop. I believe that’s in the Highway code…

Well yes that is correct, but obviously if there’s already traffic in lane rapidly approaching common sense dictates that you don’t simply pull out on it as if it isn’t even there!
I have nearly been run up the pavement by buses changing lanes simply not giving a damn about the traffic already in them.
I admit that the delivery of a public transport service is a worthwhile thing but not at the expense of everyone else on the road! Seriously what do these people think they’re doing out there???
They seem to be willing to give more attitude than any other road user also, how do they select these people? I wouldn’t give half of them a license let alone a five ton bus to rid around in.

Waay hayy we haven’t laid into bus drivers for a while! There are some really bad ones out there- in every sense of the word. Quite funny to watch bus drivers expression if you brake enthusiastically to let them pull out in front of you. Nine times out of ten they have seen you but choose to nudge out anyway, thinking that it’s oky because you can squeeze past on a bike. Yeah okay except if a pedestrian happens to be running across the road in front of the bus at the same time as bus pulls out, said bus obscuring view of said pedestrian etc. etc. Seriously though a scary number of bus drivers don’t seem to have a fuggin clue and I wouldn’t let them out in a canoe let alone a ten tonne behemoth.

Remember following a nigerian chap round the 406, terrible driving, kept cutting us up on several occasions he indicated to take the slip road, then changed his mind and swerved back into our path :w00t:pulled up at the lights at arnos grove and i tapped on his window for a chat and noticed the map book opened on the steering wheel…asked him what on earth he was playing at? he could barely talk english, so i asked him what it said on the map and it became quite clear what the problem was…HE COULD’NT EFFING READ THE SIGNS!!

Well, we all know about bus drivers (most anyway), Taxi drivers (most anyway) mini cab drivers (almost all) and so on, but the one that scares me the most is RED VAN MAN.

Commonly has “Post Office”, or similar, painted on it with a logo or two.

Complete to**ers.

Royal mail vans also can be a hazard, I’ve actually had one reverse into me while sat parked up before! You think they’d be able to miss a stationary object such as a motorcycle while parking…

That’s right, once they have there INDICATOR on you need to give way to them. Some seem to translate that in "as soon as I put my indicator on I can just pull out without caring of somebody is overtaking already.

Mind I wrote some, not all. I often get a friendly wave when letting a bus through, which is nice.

I’m sorry but I fail to see why people get so wound up about busses pulling out.

FFS they are huge fuggin red things, can’t you see them?

Give them space and just zip past when its appropriate.

Expect them to pull out or let them go.

Either way withing a second or two you are past them:cool:

+1 on the pre booked morons, one nearly had me off t’other day - too busy looking at his sat nav to try and find out where he was!

That’s OK, except when they decide to try and knock you off when swapping lanes around the Aldwych (even though he knew I was there) and then have another swerve at you when you get angry and hoot him…

The pre-book people carriers are the WORST drivers… I love the large TFL stickers in the back window, it means you can spot them quicker and keep out of the way!

I saw the best example of stupid driving ever last week. I was on the A217 near Tadworth and a black 4 x 4 pulled right across in front of me, it nearly ran into a line of cars at the lights, as it carried on in the outside lane I could see the river looking down into the car. I thought he was either fiddling with a Cd or Sat Nav so I overtook on the inside (yes, I know). I couldn’t believe that he had a copy of the Metro open over his knee and was doing about 40mph reading the paper!

I indicated to him that he was a self abuser of the worst kind…
