So, they decided he had gained advantage by running wide despite rejoining at 6KPH less than the Ferrari AND giving the place back to Ferrari before overtaking it again:w00t:
I think he won that race fair and square and , once again , Ferrari get the puppets to dance. A p1ss take and one that does F1 no good at all.
Sorry, I know this is a bike forum but this winds me up an this is where I had to come for other points of view,
I agree - what the f*ck do they think theyāre playing at? Lewis won the race in the wet (the fact that he said he was praying for rain is further evidence of his class as a driver) using superior tactics.
I donāt know anything about formula 1 - but as was hinted above does this have anything to do with Ferrariās leverage in formula 1 politics?
Got to agree with you mate, although i said to my mate i was watching it with that I thought heād get done for it - I really did. If heād have given the lead back to Kimi earlier along the straight I think heād have been fine, but the pace he had down the straight allowed him to keep up with kimi into the first cornerā¦
Its a shame, but it was the best 5 laps of F1 iāve seen for a long long timeā¦well done lewis for keeping it on the track and unlucky with the marshalls f**king you over, keep on at it, youāll get it this season, iām sure of that.
This from the F1 siteā¦(Hamilton had some front passing that Ferrari soooo easily)
It is believed that although the British driver let Raikkonen back through to the lead of the race after rejoining the track, stewards still felt he had benefited from going off track as he repassed the Finn almost immediately. :w00t:
McLaren has since said that its data showed that after lifting to let Raikkonen back through, Hamilton was 6km/h (4mph) slower than the Ferrari as they crossed the start/finish line.
This seriously puts me off watching F1. Hamilton was clearly in the right here. I replayed this lots of times and clearly Raikonnen pushed him off the track, Hamilton had nowhere else to go. What do the stewards expect him to do, simply give up the whole race at that point?
It is very strange and I dont think its just the fact about ferrari I also think it has a bit to do with Lewis too, I have a feeling that the FIA are a bit prejudice in another wayā¦
Stick it to them Lewis, I do believe he will win as everyone says despite the FIAā¦
iāve missed every race this year apart from this one. it really was edge of the seat action! once hamilton went off track and pulled back on he let off the throttle and it looked like the ferrari was just sticking next to him for a few seconds just pissing around. hamilton deserved to win that hands down:angry:
I donāt usually watch the F1, but was at the pub last night so saw the last of the race. I thought Hamilton had won, stopped watching as soon as they were over the line though.
Reasons like this is exactly why I donāt bother with F1 anymore - oh well
I watched that raceā¦(which for F1 was pretty entertaining towards the end anyway), but when Lewis went grass tracking, he rejoined behind the lead car.
Would have understood the decision to take his win if he joined in front, but he held back.
Canāt see unfair advantage there nor a reason to penalise Hamilton. Still, I donāt watch the F1 circus usually, but hear this type of charade is commonplace
Same old Ferrari crying to the FIA because they didnt win - I hope Maclaren win their appeal, they always get targeted by the FIA! Ferrari are just a whinging bunch of w*nkers!
Iām a confessed F1 nut case. Ive watched every race bar two since 1994!!
I have seen this crap happen too often recently, its a joke, to me it looked like he was shoved off and had nowhere to go, he wasnt cutting the chicane.
Theres a huge lump of green concrete just outside that kerb (brundle was stood on it on the pre-race build up), had he have riden the kurb to the degree that he would have needed to in order to not crash into kimi he would have been lifted up on the plank and probably speared into Kimi on the corner exit taking them both out.
To me he was avoiding an avoidable accident.
The ferrari bias is soo clear to see, yet so heavily denied. The pit lane incient in the last race was way more dangerous (and alot less exciting) but Ferrari was let off the hook.
Yet as soon as the Belium stewards could they penalised Heikki Kovalienan (ok so perhaps this could be argued, but I wonder if it had been a ferrari???) and then took the smallest of excused to nail hamilton out of the race win.
Oh and we go to italy next weekend, where all the marshals and stewards are Tifosiā¦
Bah thats it for me, Touring Cars and the Superbikes from now onā¦
yes they probably could but in Italy we donāt have enough Xerox machinesā¦it is incredible how quickly people forget what McLadren did last year.
I find the decision to penalise Hamilton a bit harsh as the advantage gained was minimal (if any) but to say that the Ferrari are the ācheatersā is laughable!!!
