As anyone used these? I would be interested in hearing what you thought.

Nice link, could be useful…

havent used them bulbs myself, but LEDs are near bombproof…

lots of cars and truck manufactures going to led’s so I should think they worth a punt, nip to halfords n see if they got any cheaper n let us know how you get on with them

Oi you lazy git! You go!:P:D

cant have anything modern on my teapot now can I ? unless its to upgrade to an esspresso machine

Went round my mum’s on Sunday and lo and behold she has a model of a GSX in her cabinet with her Royal Daulton cups and saucers…lol;)

Don’t buy them unless you can try them out and return them. The angle of view from some are more limited than incandescent bulbs, and outside that angle they produce next to NO light. The lower priced ones are, in my experience, a bad bargain, as they often make the lights cheaper by using cheaper components. I put some 1156/1157 lights in my Yamaha Riva 200 Z, and got very little light for the brakes, the turn signals you could barely see at all. So I took them out, put incandescent bulb back in. As you can imagine, you need some way of getting more visible, without drawing more current on scooters, as you need to have them wound up to generate electricity to drive bigger bulbs. LEDs would be a fine choice, if they work. These didn’t. Look for an array of LEDs, if you can fit them into the housing.

You need LEDs that match your lens color (unless you have a clear lens). Most light is blocked by the lens if it is a white LED, and all of the RED light from the red LEDs will be passed through the red lens.

Also look for LEDs where they mention the brand name, as a sign that they know what sort of LEDs that they have put into your “bulbs”. Also be prepared to get a new flasher, as your circuit may not flash with the low current draw of LEDs.

A good site on the web is Webbikeworld, and they detail several projects, including a custom LED array put together in a BMW taillight housing.

These guys have put a lot of money out on LED lights and they explain it much better than I can. Search for LED on their site.

Yeah with Tinker…
I bought some for my Tuono a few years back and they looked awesome at night and looking at them dead on straight… but totally useless from any other angle.

Look nice <------ clicky

Had LED side lights on my R1. One of them burnt out within a month. Took them back to the shop I bought them from and the guy said no warranty on bulbs…
