led indicator issues...

installed a pair of Oxford LED indicators on the front last night. they come with resistors and i got them fitted ok with a normal flash rate. happy with that.

then tonight i installed an R&G tail tidy (having disassembled the entire rear…) and fitted a second set of Oxford indicators with the resistors. all in the same way as i did the front.

and guess what… they all now flash too fast. even the front ones. tried everything i could think of, rewiring the rear ones, but to no effect. then it got too dark, so i have pieced it all back together and now have fast flashers!

anyone got any idea where i might have gone wrong? got an MOT next week so need to get them sorted!

many thanks

with all of your indicators now bein led’s theres less resistance so the flash unit needs replacing with a flash right unit…get them at most ike shops

Take out one set of resistors see what happens

i tried it without the resistors on the back and it made no difference… annoying after all the effort of getting them on!

i told ya get a new flash unit for led’s…flasight i think its called

thanks Paul, a bit of googling has thrown up the ‘Flash It’ LED relay, which i guess is what i will need to fit. i’ll pop in to the shop on the way to work and grab one.

still, one of the reasons for buying the Oxford flickers was that they said the resistors included in the box/price would solve the quick flashing issue. seemed to work when only 2 were installed, but not 4 (which is what most bikes usually have…) seems a bit misleading to me.

cheers again.

Get an Acumen replacement relay. It should be be a case of plug and play. I have one coming for the TDM and some replacement LED indicators so I’ll you know how it goes.
