LB's Version of Ride Magazines Tour Of Essex. Date TBC

I have tweeked Ride Magazines little tour of Essex to start from the High Beach Tea Hut and go to Finchingfield from there using the Normal Route we follow. then on to Burnham on crouch taking in Sudbury, Colchester, West Mersea & Maldon beore heading back to Brook Street Roundabout in Brentwood where we can all filter off to our home destinations.

My Plan is to set off from the Tea Hut (Bacon Rolls for Brekkie to start  ) and head off to Finchingfied where we can have a quick chill on the green and take in some refreshments. Then head off for about an hour to an hour and a half (depending on speed) ride to Mersea Island where we will stop for Lunch and a nice relax. Then its another stint of around an Hour to Burnham on Crouch for another refreshment break, then the final stint of just over an hour to Brook Street Brentwood.

The route is likely to be an all day event starting early (8-9am ish)and likely to finish late afternoon. It will include lots of twisties and country lanes, we will stop off at a couple of places for Lunch/refreshments, fuel etc. All in All I reckon about 4-5 hours saddle time. (roughly the same as the Ace Café to Southend Ride a few Months back) all bikes welcome as there are no Motorways involved so it is 125 Friendly but take into consideration it is a VERY long ride. We will use the usual Leader/Tailgunner & Cornerman system so make yourself familiar with this.

I will wait to see how many people are interested in the ride and what date suits before setting the ride in stone.

Here is a Link to the map I have prepared for the ride.

Essex Tour Map

Looks good to me  I’d be up for this, depending on the date - I can’t do 26/27 July or 2/3 August.

Wait to see when Miss Plum arranges the midnight run for as don’t want to spoil all her hard work on that ride.

Yes, well up for this hope the date suits

Count me in.

looks familiar to me

It’s the one in RiDE magazine this month, except it starts from the Tea Hut rather than Ongar Road. (Think they must’ve been playing in your back yard last month!!)

Count me in, if I’m not working obviously

if I was you I would miss out the Colchester bit go around the reservoir & up past the zoo a lot better then Colchester town

I wouldn’t have a clue that route so someone would have to edit it for me.

I’m up for a bit of seeing is there really is life after all on the eastern side of London, with the same caveats as everyone else in regards to dates.

Count me in. (if not working, or away).

I’m Interested- date dependant (16/17th Aug is a no-no for me)

i’m waiting to see what date Miss Plum has for the Midnight Ride. If it’s on the date that people can’t do we will do this one so that those that miss out on the midnight run get to do this one instead. I don’t want to arrange this for the same weekend she does hers as she has put loads of hard work into the midnight ride I wouldn’t want to do anything that would conflict with it.
