LB Photo Team

2nd post of the evening (and yes I was once the most prolific poster on LB I’ll have you all know :-o )

We need more photos of local bike events, especially those we (the community) are present at. I can’t practically get out and about nowadays with family stuff etc blah blah but there’s no reason why budding snappers shouldn’t be involved.

So I’d like to get together a Snappers Team. It will be distinct from my guys who cover the racing - and something a lot more casual and less stringent. ie. you don’t have to be as good a photographer with as big a camera bag as them.

The idea is that you’ll be a member who is happy to be out and about doing regular type stuff; going on ride outs (big or small, ‘official’ or ad hoc), going to Borough now and again, going to a bike show here and there etc and will be happy to take your camera (big or small) and document that thing. Then create a thread if need be and post the images.

I’m not requiring massive talent or knowledge, like I say I’m not looking at shoving people into press offices or other stressful situations. Nor am I gonna be throwing out commands to go forth like the pictures editor at The Times.

We just need people we know can be relied on to take some photos and share’em with us all. The forums get really boring with just words.

What’s in it for you then? Well, I’ll organise some hoodies with the (to be thought of) team slogan on it so you can stand out in the crowd. You’ll rise up the pecking order of people we have to be grateful too which means when stuff or opportunities come along to be passed out you’ll be nearer the front of the queue.

So who’s game? PM me if you want, email me andrew’at’LBuk.net is better though.

Perhaps a photoday will be forthcoming as a result so we can all get together.

I’m up for this. I’ll drop you an email

will my nokia 6230 mobile phone camera suffice…? nah didn’t think so

Taking photos is a bit of an artistic skill…for which I have zero.

Would love to do it, but I have still not figured out how people manage to take photos that don’t appear to have been taken in the middle of an earth quake, let alone take a decent picture of a scene.

Then don’t reply to this post

or perhaps have a go and see what happens :doze:

Someone taken your prozac tonight mightlife?

Or should I apologise for utilising the internet in a way to waste my time, my god what was I thinking, we all know the internet is only there to be used for serious consideration and deep analysis. No-one should ever use the internet merely to pass their time in an entirely unproductive way.

I feel ashamed that I have abused the internet and twisted its true purpose to suit my own ends.

I’m happy to volunteer for this. I have zero photographic talent but am keen to put my new toys, including a massive flash, to good use (or try to :hehe: ).

Thanks for giving us this opportunity.

I could be up for this armed with my new camera (it’s a bridge camera whatever that means) And I should be going to some very interesting places and shows this year.

If you still need help after the start of April I can help but unavailable at the moment due to training for a charity boxing match

I’m a decent enough photographer, but I don’t get out on the events as much as I would like. However, happy to hand over some shots whenever I do get the chance. I can always slip a compact camera in a pocket and snap away…

I don’t even think a fancy camera is needed, iPhone cameras are pretty good!

absolutely Karleigh as i hope my NEC gallery proves shot on a Nokia.

this is more about willingness and availability though a bunch of foggy blurry images with people’s heads missing isnt gonna work.

I will let the thread run a little then we will look to hook up at some point to all meet and compare notes .

I’ll be up for this as well

Count me in too! A grand plan.

Once I recover from my broken elbow & get back on my bike I’d be happy to snap up…

so what ever happened to www.motoprofessional.com?

My camera is always with me and most photos on Flickr of rides, track, events and weekends away.

I will shout when I’ve got some to upload Andrew feel free to get from Flickr too.

Yeah, I’m up for this too

You can drive a truck over it

Some would say that is the best way to treat a bridge camera…
