LB Member Gallery - how to submit

Londonbikers.com is keen to see more of your photos in the galleries so here’s lowdown on how it’s gonna happen.

  1. We want your photos from rideouts/meets etc, so Borough Market, the Ace, Sunday blasts, organised rideouts whatever. Images of your bike on your drive and such like aren’t what we are after I’m afraid. They can go in the relevant threads in this section no problemo.

  2. Some issues have been brought up about us requesting some basic image qualities being met. So we’ll forget any pre-requisites mentioned already, just do what you can with the pictures before sending them in. If an image can be easily enhanced then I will do so, but I won’t publish images which are basically unusable.

  3. Images from your mobile phone are generally not acceptable for the galleries simply because of the poor quality when shown at full screen size as the galleries are. If you’ve a fancy Sony or similar with 8+megapixels then ok they’ll prob be usable, but less than that won’t work.

  4. I’m going to publish the images once a month or when there are enough images to warrant a new gallery, and it’ll take the form of “Members Gallery July 2009” for example. So don’t feel that you need to send loads of images in, a handful is fine. If I get lots of handfulls then bosh, we have a gallery.

  5. Specific events may indeed produce enough photos to warrant their own gallery, great if so otherwise they’ll be rolled into a general one as above.

  6. For those of you with big pukka cameras please don’t send full size original images simply because they’ll choke up the email server. Resize them first using your camera’s software or failing which use this one http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/ or something similar. The largest image size I want is 1600 pixels longest edge, so use this as a maximum when resizing.

  7. If you’ve attended a specific event (say the TT) and have more images than you’d like to email then PM me and we’ll look at the options from there.

**Your images should be emailed to [email protected] with a description of the event/meeting your pictures show (and ideally who is shown in them) with a max of 10 images per email please - several emails is fine. **

Any questions post below so we can set up a FAQ type list. Any moans or suggestions please PM me first to avoid complicating the thread.
