It was basically what I said to Ducati Pete…I mean I’ve had 3 bikes stolen, so I know very well that horrid feeling of seeing a space where it used to be, and I think these thieves are scumThe trouble is, even scum have rights…
And my fear is that with a lawyer, the thief could mount a case against LB (and in this f*cked up world) claim damages and possibly win it.
We don’t know all the ins and outs of the case so we chose to er on the side of caution and hide the thread.
London Bikers is not protecting thieves…Look at our stolen bike database initiative.
But we don’t need litigation either because basically, if we lost a case, we’d be f-ed and there’d be no more LB.
+1 I am keen to know what the issue is… (not to argue about it - just to be aware)
we need a site such as this one http://www.familywatchdog.us/
I suspect that there might be issues surrounding S.49 Children & Young Persons Act 1933 which prevents juveniles involved in court proceedings being identified to the public…He’s 16 isn’t he? Or have I lost the ability to count?
I really hope i meet jimmy tan one day
If that is the case then I apologise to admin.
does that mean i should change my avatar back? :crying:
took me ages to do that…

From your avatar could you identify that person as someone being concerned in naughtiness, and having been concerned in court proceedings as a juvenile? Or is it just a random picture taken in public of someone leaving a public building? ![]()
Oh, by the way I’m not a lawyer, so don’t blame me when you’re doing time…
Ok, in light of the hidden thread…
Unless we have information on an individual from a reliable source such as the Police, or unless the information is sourced from some other reliable news story…
LB cannot allow unsubstantiated stories to appear on the forum.
We have no idea who the individual that is reporting these claims is. For all we know they could have a personal vendetta against an individual(s) and be using LB as a vehicle to further their cause.
This is too risky as it involves serious legal implications which LB cannot bear unfortunately.
I am at a loss to imagine any circumstances in which this character could mount a successful challenge against LB. I am not a lawyer mind, but I do have litigation experience (successful on both counts) and would be very interested to know on what basis anyone here might think he might win. Certainly not the Human Rights Act, unless www.londonbikers.com declared itself to be a public authority
Postscript - in light of the good point made in Afro’s post of a few minutes ago - Angrybiker, presumably you can provide evidence to Afro showing this case was in court and what the outcome was?
He lives in EC1! I work there. I parked The Riot at the other end of Hatton Garden on Wednesday, I am on me hols but had an appointment and parked elsewhere cause the spaces had gone where I’d normally park, the chain I chain The Riot to the fence was at the regular space I park so I just the disclock on the bike. When I return, I started the Riot and some bolke came over still talking on his mobile. I was just getting ready to tell him to fugg-off as I thought he was gonna moan about the noise, be he said that a group of kids had been all over The Riot and he’d had to call the Police to get rid of’em!
The Riot dont sound like the kinda bike that JT’s been stealing, but if whoever it was is that handy at thieving bikes, they might have taken it just for the crack!
I’ll be keep’in an eye out for this lil’mofo!
spose dont really help your cause cos you just registered and posted the thread in question too.

seems admin have taken a reasonable stance in light of the “sue” the crap generation out there, hopefully if stories like this make the nationals or motorcycle press then would we be allowed to highlight the story ?
I can understand what happened. The usual position is that a court will make an order when convicting a minor which limits the publication of the court’s findings. This doesn’t always happen, as the court can consider the public interest overrides the desire for the young person to be able to lean their lesson and make a clean start. However, any publisher (including a website like this) would be wise to get legal advice on the precise terms of any such order before publishing information which allowed the culprit and the conviction to be identified. Breaching such a court order could make the owner of this website liable for unlimited fine and unlimited imprisonment, so caution is appropriate.

wow…well put
Presumably the court findings are public information? Are they being published online somewhere? If so, that will probably show whether the information is publicly available or not?
