South African curry but “according to my Indian colleagues it’s the closest they have tasted to being in India”

Great job  I just need to try few more of 'em and give more feedback

I’ll add the Pukka on Streatham High Road. Nice fresh tasting curries. Occasional cabaret, such as Indian Elvis or Asian Abba.

good to see Lahore as the most recommended, i’m starving just thinking of their food :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude, that’s my local mate.
Have you noticed that the eat-in menu is different from the take-away menu?
We had pretty duff service in and we prefer the take-away so we don’t often go out there, but that’s the first port of call for a take-away in this part of town… every time…

So are you in Streatham Hill as well?

cafe royale in beckenham (at the bottom by the momerial roundabout) is pretty good, little pricey but generally the food is top quality…

Ditto, and the service is probably the best I’ve ever experienced too.

Another vote for Rita’s in Southall (Regia Road). No licence, but you can bring your own booze. Best indian I’ve had so far. And cheap.

THERE IS A GOOD ONE IN KINGSTON.

DONT KNOW THE NAME OF IT BUT WILL FIND OUT

ok for me the absolute best indian I have ever had the priverlage of going to is the Mala in marble quay.

It is expensive (cost me £95 for me my bird and our 5 year old who pretty much ate of our plates) but believe me it will be the best indian you will ever eat…

How do you know when you go there to much? when you call and they say Hello Karl the usual! they always look after me though…

My missus is taking me to the Cinnamon Club (W’minster) on Friday for a treat. Verdict to follow…

[If we could do this for Japanese food, that would be REALLY excellent :)]

I have an old mukka who lives just off Valley Road, and we often end up in there. Some of the other clientèle can be quite interesting. I was there a week ago and three drunk trollops were having a full on row over a chardonnay or three and their curries. Had a nice take way from there on mothers day. The outlaws live the Norbury side of the common. I live near Westerham.

Theres a great curry house where i live and its the

Taj Mahal
Church Hill Road
East Barnet

There’s a place in Covent Garden called Masala Zone which is really good and also Green Chilli in Hammersmith. Green Chilli is probably the home of the best Curry I’ve tasted

Asif Balti House, Beddington - nr Croydon.

Best indian ever by a fair way, and by christ have I eaten a few…

You forgot to mention…

Govindas - Soho St W1

Mela - Shaftesbury Avenue WC2

Bombay bicycle club - Nightingale Lane SW12

have a good time, it’s one of my favourites! We should sort out an LB curry night soon

A very good curry place is THE GRANGE in Wallington…

I am a regular there and can organise private room and a set menu curry for a very very reasonable price… maybe watch TT movie there, or get a disco in ?

If there is interest, I can make the call…

AMIT…

(not many curry houses that I can recommend being Indian myself, other than the missus’ cooking…hmmmmm devine… but then the consumption of beer and curry does roll off the tongue…

Erm… As this thread is coming up for it’s 4th birthday.

Just how many of these places are still open?
