Last night ... :-(

I nearly got hit by a TNT van last night at around 7.30pm on St.George’s Circus…
what a nightmare… and i nearly lost it with that idiot…even the police got involved…i ended up with a broken left mirror… :crying:

just thought i’d share this with you :ermm:

[group hug]

Not fun… at least it was only a broken mirror, and not a broken you.

Keep yer eyes peeled at all times, too many dangerous tw@s on the road these days mate.

thanks, i agree, although sometimes it seems like two eyes are not enough

Unlucky mate, glad that you are ok and it is just a mirror…

Did you get his reg? I reported a maniac TNT driver that nearly had me off twice in 10mins and he also just missed ploughing into two cyclists a couple of months ago.

TNT were very apologetic and he was reprimanded quite severely by his (biker) boss. is really is worth reporting him to them and they can trace his depot… he needs to be held responsible - they think they own the road

glad to hear you didnt get hurt!i try to steer well clear of delivery vans, already seen three near misses infront of me in just 10 days of commuting (between TNT & DHL vans and other bikers)

mirrors and signals appear to be an alien concept to some drivers

yep i got his reg and i’m in the process of speakg to his boss (left 3 messages and asked to call back and still no call) apparently it is a subcontract company for TNT…
TNT was very apologetic but that’s not enough as i’m sure you would agree

thanks for the advice, that’s what i usually do but this time the idiot just cut in front of me and i had no room for manouver …

and in ‘fairness’ to the driver he did use his indicator … but i wonder does that entitle him to do whatever he wants on the road? my answer is it bl**dy doesn’t!

Come on everyone knowes if you are using your indicator you have right of way!! thats what the guy that knocked me off my bike tried to claim anyway…

blo*dy right it doesnt, but you must remember you are in the wrong by default with these plebs

I’ve just spoken with the General Manager of TNT subcontract company (incidentally he’s a rider too  ) and he assured me that he’ll be having a word with the driver in question on monday and a form of disciplinary action taken … he promised to call me back on monday with an update…

we’ll see

excellent mate, must be the same bloke I spoke with:) just make sure when they come back to you on Monday you are happy - actually I think a nice handwritten letter of apology from the pleb and a nice red mark on his books will do him good. I so hope its the same git that done it to me and he gets the boot.

The guy I spoke with asked me if there was anything they could do as a company to make the situation better for me, I said that they should send him on a CBT to let him know how it feels to be vunerable on the roads for just one day and to put a nice big sticker on the dashes of all thier cars to remind them to check for bikes in mirrors before manuvers (sp) along with a nice visit from the bikesafe team to show them what sort of incidents happen - I don’t think he was expecting a list of things but there you go.

and im sorry hun I should have edited my first post to say im glad you are okay fella :D, it could have been alot worse… i just was soo angry it was TNT again grrrr

Glad it’s just your mirror that bought it mate… Hope they string the fecker up!

got a second hand mirror from ebay…and still waiting for a call back from the manager… :w00t: will chase it up though not letting this go! …
