LB has been here in LA (Hollywood) for a couple of days now. We’ve had the hook-ups, got off the plane, straight to Bel-Air to take in the views, meet a number of riders and even some GDC members (bloody small world!) and some riders who lived in London… We’ve got a couple of 600’s tomorrow and will be going up into the mountains with the locals for some scratchin’.
It’s really good to hear how far the LB name spreads. We’re quite well known over here despite not trying to actively promote here. We must be doing something right!
We’ve had the tours from our Brit-boy host here and man, it’s one seriously COOL city. We both had stereotypes but put them to one side until we experienced it for ourselves and we love it, it’s very diverse, very happy-happy, very clean (you won’t believe how clean, London is skanky compared to this), the roads are crap though, but the cars, my god… We’ve been lucky enough to be driven around in some supercars and even got pulled over by the po-po having some fun in a Porsche Turbo. Must have been Foxy’s demeanor!
Foxy’s telling me she doesn’t want to go home, and to be honest, considering this is their winter and we’re out in t-shirts and loving the weather, I’m starting to feel the same
It’s one big, fun and also scary city. Taking a drive-thru tour of some of the worst off areas we saw countless crack-addicts, then a street later you’re in a major shopping area. Weird.
Oh, also, people drive fast here, much faster than in London. But they’re scary, they’re all on their phones, don’t indicate and change lanes fast, and swerve all over the place. There’s a lot of places where it’s just not safe to ride a bike. London is SERIOUSLY different. We’re very lucky in many respects.
Service is always with a smile here, so many more folks are really happy and pleasant here. I guess it’s the weather, rain and cold gets us down at home. Flip side of the coin is that there’s people always ready to take advantage of your good-nature, but it doesn’t ruin things.
No idea what we’re doing for NYE, but the holiday is going well, really glad to have a break. Got a few ideas for future projects though so running through some research whilst here. Oh, missed our plane and got on the second and was on the plane with Neil Hodgeson as well. Small world considering we have one of his boots at home after our last interview with him hehe.
Pics to come. Not as many as normal as it’s not safe or appropriate to use the camera due to the paparazzi element here. Many places won’t let you in if you have a camera like mine, and some places it’s just not safe due to crime.
oh yeah!..have GREAT NYE!
Keep on enjoying it, you both deserve a break for all the work you put into the site!
