I’ve been advertising this bike for about two months now (here, bike trader, SD forum, MCN, Gumtree). Apart from a couple of major timewasters, not even taken a call on it. I guess that people just don’t have the money to buy decent bikes private any more and instead get finance deals instead.
Exactly the same thing with a 1 year old top of the range MX5 I’m selling. Bought it for £19500 1st March last year and selling for £13995 - a big hit and still no interest.
I’d probably let the KTM go for anywhere north of £6k but can’t believe the lack of interest this late into the season. If I hadn’t just got married and with an addition in the pipeline I wouldn’t sell it as I don’t necessarily need the dough. Just loath to take such a big hit on a bike thats only done 2194 miles with services, in as new condition when I bought it for £8500. Depreciation £1 a mile plus running costs is a bit daft.
By my reckoning if they sell at these prices thats about £8k cash down the drain on car and bike in 18 months. Plus running costs and insurance. Just a bit annoying as I only bought cash myself due to never using credit so not having a rating for dealer lease offers etc. Insurance renewal on the bike is only £260 fully comp thankfully due end of this month.
I’ll swap both for a nice 4x4…
