KTM super duke battle round 1 (thruxton)

Hi guys

just got back from round 1 of the KTM super duke battle at Thruxton.

as you may know i am part of the MOTO DEVELOPMENTS team and we had our first round this weekend.

The weekend as a whole was great fun and its cool to be involved with something like this, but making the jump from club racing up to this has been a bit of a eye opener:w00t:

The level of competition is very high as the top boys in this are very very quick.(the top boys where lapping in the 1.24s and the bsb do it 1.19s) so as you can see we have got our work cut out to be competitive.

that said SIMON NASH 99 and LUKE HALL 66 did well as it was there first time ever at Thruxton and the first time racing on the KTMs. here are some pics as promised.

lol @ the Silkolene chicks  cool that they dont take themselves too seriously

KTM is an awesome bike! I was lucky enough to chat to Pat McDougall on a track day at Brands with him middle of last season - quick boy - great bike!

The all important question… where did they come (or can I not read and missed that part?)

I saw some of the racing last year, the KTM’s are awsome machines… on my christmas list, but couldnt fit down the chimney apparently.

Nice one Gav for the photos!

Well done to Simon and Luke for keeping it upright. Conditions looked iffy!

More to come on LB and Moto Developments shortly!

Support these guys!

Hiya all, well It was a tough weekend. We’d never been to Thruxton before so we knew it would be a really steep learning curve, with long flat out sweeping corners everyone had said it was a very hard fast track to learn, and they weren’t exaggerating, First practice on Friday and our times placed me 15th and Luke 18th . By the end of a very wet qualifying on Saturday I qualified 15th but Luke had slipped a few places to 21st saying he was unable to really hook it up in the wet conditions.

Sunday race came and we lined up on the grid, the warm up lap was eventful with a rider going down at a one of the fastest corners destroying his bike but luckily he was uninjured, the race was frantic and in damp drying conditions my start can only be described as crap, Luke however got off the line well and made up places to finish in 17th I eventually found a rhythm after a few laps and was lapping quicker than the riders in front of me but was unable to make up any real ground finishing in a disappointing 19th.

So that was our first BSB round, we were both disappointed with the end result but it was a great experience, I’d like to say a big thank you to our team Gav, Alan, Tony, Ross, Steve and Vanessa and London Bikers. The next rounds at Donninton on the 24-26 May. Bring it on…………
