I was knocked off my bike on Hurst Road roundabout yesterday morning… A people carrier just pulled out infront of me, I tried to tuck the bike into the roundabout in hope off avoiding the collision… but the driver drove too close to the roundabout and I went straight into the side of her driver side door and my head even put the window through. After being bounced off the car and onto my arse… the bike then feel on my legs, luckily I had just enough time to get my legs out from under the bike as she then just drove off… running my bike over with her back wheel as she went.
I went to hospital and given the all clear with bones and head, got a fair bit of bruising and bashing though… but I came away quite well from it all.
Bad thing is no one got her reg no. as they were all making sure I was ok, which I thank them for… plus a massive thanks to the Sky TV van driver who tried to chase after her but lost her down a maze of roads.
Plus also a BIG thanks to Yamaha Sondel in Blackfen for coming to my aid, they picked my bike up for me and dropped me off home.
Im just gutted and appalled by the car driver… for all she knows that was me she ran over getting away and not my bike… Got my police report in so here’s hoping something comes of it… although no reg no. = no positive insurance claim… GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
jeeze, always gutting to hear about accidents even worse when it’s a hit and run. hope the bumps and bruises aren’t hurting too much. Get on MW2 and pretend everyone is the driver, you’ll be calling in a nuke strike in no time
When I was at the police station today I went over it with the police officer on the desk and she just said… “I shouldn’t really take a side… but if we find her we will come down very hard on her and she’ll be looking at jail time”.
I really hope she is found, my girlfriend was driving me around the local area where the accident happened just incase she dumped the car down a side road… but no luck.
I’ve checked the local area for cctv and it appears the nearest one was about 100m away in the high street, very slim to none chance the driver even went down the route where the cctv is placed… but fingers crossed she did.
Im just so gutted about it, she’s probably at home with a cup of tea thinking “I hope I got away with it”… where im at home in aches and pains and having to have my girlfriend put my jeans on for me as I cant bend because ive got no muscle strength in either of my thighs and all down my left leg… but on a plus… while my girlfriends down there ;)
What a frightfully bitch…what is our community coming down to? This is criminal! Sorry to hear about this but glad that you are ok. I hope they will find her and she will get what she deserves…sorry about you bike too but at least this can be replaced. i hope you heal quick.
Truly shocking:w00t: what an absolute cow sounds likley she did’nt have insurance…i cannot believe a person can do that to another:crying: i hope you find her…is it worth driving around the same time tomorrow maybe down the road she came out of when she hit you just look for a car with a botched up window?
If you got the make of the people carrier, it’s worth your while contacting the local & a bit further away garages for that make, as well as the non-marque garages in the area and ask for a call if anybody comes in with the door & window damage.
Unbelievable, still there shouldn’t be that many people carriers of X colour with dent in the door and no window… so you’d like to think that she’ll be caught. It’s a shame that no one even got a partial index as that would probably enough in conjunction with a description of the vehicle… didn’t the Sky driver get some part of it?

go back same time and hang around. Its such a main road, i’m guessing its the main route to where she was going.
What make and colour, and i’ll keep an eye out for you, i’m down there tomorrow and friday…you never know.
I like the suggestion of contacting garages. Glad to hear your in one piece though.
It’s a shame it’s hardd to remember things from this froum whilst concetrating on the road. There are so many of us on this forum that are all over the city, it’s actually not unlikely one of us will pass her at some point.
Likelyhood of spotting her, realising it’s her and getting some numberplate digits… less likely
