keis heated gloves and toasty fuses

got some keis heated gloves and the worked fine the first few time but now that i need them they have stopped working.

They have a small 5amp fuse that every time I connect them it blows! I spoke to the v helpful guy from ‘Motorcycle Road and Race’ and as soon as he ehard of the prob he asked if its a honda? :ermm:

apparently some hondas send irregular pulses of power out and that fries the fuse. not sure how true this is as i had heated grips with a 5 amp last year without a prob.

anyone have any ideas how to check if what he says is true? i think using a higher amp fuse may be a bad idea…

Could your reg rec be on it’s way out as hondas like blowing them up?

how would you test that?

Fully charged battery check the voltage when the bike is running should be 13.5-14

It’s a Honda - get rid of it! :w00t:

Just get some enduro hand guards - that should keep the chill off your fingers

will check tonight… Alex already got some guards…

 SULK.

Bike voltage remains fluxuates never going below 14.30 or above 15V with a load (high beam) its just above 12V

is that enough of a spike to blow fuse?

That’s quite abit it should at steady but I’m not a pro so hard to tell

So the guy who made a thread boasting about how in winter his hands dont get cold because he goes gym is now using heated gloves and hand guards LOL:laugh:

dude ive moved house and now comute twice as long and twice the speed. i still ride in but id like to be thinking of whats happening around me and not the small stinging in my fingers. is that ok?

ahem scooters don’t go fast enough to make your hands cold! :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you tried testing them by just plugging them in without the bike running, i.e. so they’re just running straight off the battery? If they still blow the fuse then it’s obviously nothing to do with any spike.

Disappointing for you Pan…though it does sound more like a problem with the bike than the gloves…but on a purely selfish level I’m now glad I didn’t buy them myself!:w00t:

when on the scooter i can just place my hands on the headlight and get instant warmth :stuck_out_tongue: and the muffs help

i think i did… i wasted about 5 fuses… i think i had the ignition on but engine off and they still blew :ermm:

well a guy from work also has them and he is v happy with them. im either unlucky or the hornet is rejecting the transplants

In which case it’s nothing to do with the bike & you’ve got a duff set of gloves.

No

PMSL :stuck_out_tongue:

Short, but not so sweet

Mong template please !! :w00t:

Still cant believe keiss try and do you for £45 odd quid for the optional battery.

Shame theres no electrical geniuses who can provide a rig for a mobile battery to hook up.

A 2200mah one of those is around £11, couple of connectors and maybe some resistors cant add up to too much more.
