Was on the way to work this morn, had to do an emergency stop and the rear brake foot hanger snapped, nearly cost me my bike and my life! bike is mint and never been down and this happens!
manufacturing defect anyone?
Bet that woke you up :pinch:
Is it new enough for Kwak to be interested?
its 2005 bro, is it 3 year or 2 manufacturers warranty normally?
Not sure mate. Worth a call though
Why are you using the rear brake when doing an emergency stop? With all the weight transfer to the front, the back won’t be doing anything but distracting you from maximising your front brake. Seriously, I would look at the technique there.
I don’t even use the rear brake at a trackday, it’s all about the front.
Still, sucks that the lever broke!
barely put any pressure on it mate just transferred bit of weight forward and i had to stabilise my self and lean the bike over to avoid sum jackass who pulled out in front of me when blatantly seeing me mate, i dont use it either thats why im not too fussed bout it the way it is just dont think it should have happened. and having said that the back wheel should lock before your parts start to fail.
…not good at all.
especially considering i have just bought a 10
think it was probably a one off mate just dno wtf happend
that looks like a shlte design, minimal to lose weight and loosing strength.
teach you to buy a 'zooki next time then :D:D:D
got one of them aswell mate, dont you worry
Pretty sure its a 2 year warranty.
Thats all they gave me on the ZZR when i had it.
Kawasaki hangars are awful, I have dropped 2 different Kawasaki’s in car parks (more often that I should - I’m only little!) and every time I’ve lost the hangar.
The best one was my old 636 A1P, physically speaking - it should be impossible to break a triangle into 4 pieces at once - you don’t have enough points to apply torque to break all 3 corners - but yeah, picked it up and the hangar had indeed broken each corner clean off.
Cheap alloy - buy something after market to replace them.
Glad you’re ok though.
yeh thanks mate, guess its a good excuse to get a some rearsets on.
At least your hangars have removeable kick plates! zx7 hangar’s come with a built in one. Last time it happened my local kwaka dealer freely admitted they’re rubbish.
But yeah, broken bits are always a good excuse to get something shiny!
Not that discussion again
Hey, I’m all about furthering our skills
Me too Two contact patches work better than one IMO Quite a few racers agree but tends to be a personal preferance discussion, well it was last time
My rear brake footrest shattered after a low speed slide but it did have a 160kg bike piled on it. Nothing else broke mind you.

Oh come on. Try stopping a bike using all 3 combinations of brake (not counting the engine) and see which one is the shortest.
So your braking on a track is “emergency?”
