I am considering it…
I have not owned one but know a few that do and they say its a great bike. I have test ridden one, and I thought it would be a pretty good all rounder. Not so many parts on cheesey bay for them as an SV 650 which is basically what its competing against. Reckon its more aesthetically pleasing to the eye out of the two though.
Chuffster Grrr… I guess there’s no accounting for taste - & you have none.
Seriously get the better SV, sure you’ll get the same deal

Actually it’s only £1
You would be biased and have a Suzuki SV would you Stu SV
i had a really good ride on the er6, very nice compact bike and perfect for a first bike, not too silly for speed either!
Or you could go for… GSXR600 with £99 fully comp insurance (if your over 25) and you wont get bored with that as quickly as the ER5!
yep no boredom!, go for the gsxr!.
Thanks for the suggestions guys but i am not really looking for a sports bike…dont really like the look and being tall (6.2 ft) i find sports bike uncomfortable.
so it is a naked or middle-weight that im looking for.
i.e. shortlisted to
NEW Kawa ER6
USED Honda CBF(500 or 600) or possibly
NEW Suzuki SV
Er, mate, just in case you don’t know, I have an SV 650 - just not in the same guise as yours (see my Avtar). I have ridden both an SV and and ER6 on the road. Afraid to say that the winner is the ER6, it certainly does not feel as budget as the SV. The suspension is the biggest let down on the SV, I like a suspension that works!
Works ok my big sv you cheeky scamp. I think it might be made of stronger stuff though.
I’m sure you knew it was all in jest Yes i have no experience with an ER6, I also don’t really care what you get since I don’t actually work for Suzuki, so just glad it’s on your short list for consideration and hope you end up with the best bike for you.
Back to chuffster, I like suspension to work too, that’s why i’m half way through Gsxr-ing it!
Sorry I didn’t recognise SV in race fairing.

What bout fazer??? whats wrong with the yammy??? got the r6 engine???
the Fazer is IL4 and Im mainly thinking of getting a parallel V…(not inline 4s)
:S
Cbf600 is also an inline4!
My wife has a ER6n and it is a very good starter bike for newbies having a more predictable laydown of power than the lumpy v twin sv !
Both are very good bikes and you wont know what suits you until you test ride them !
i personally prefer the inline 4 engines as thay are a lot smoother but if a test ride is not possible on both machines the Er6 is the safest option and im 100% sure you will agree when you ride one !
