mostly ups (not including the front wheel!!) with a few downs being the frustration in finding data/support/knowledge on what will work (and wont) on the new beast.
for sure, this bike is gonna eclipse my last in pretty much all aspects.
cannot wait to get my full system, and have my pcusb custom mapped…
The bike looks hot esemes, very good choice of modifications, stylish and high performing! It’s important to get the right exhaust for the bike, so don’t be in a rush to get something on there, the stocker is more than good enough for the time-being!
welp, decided to pull the trigger, and (after all the racefit hype!!) decided to go even shorter on the canister than originally planned (was gonna go 15, but decided on 13)
here she is::
specs::
yosh full ti trs (endcaps and core)
yosh ti midpipe
yosh SS hangar (no ti avail)
sato racing full ti hanger (arms and bases)
power commander pciii with .001 mapfile (f’n fantastic!!)
all i can say is wow
feels NOTHING like the bike i owned yesterday.
better is every way:
-lighter (prolly about 8lbs min!)
-louder (yeah, going this short def. made the cannister emit more grunt!)
-looker (IMO, it looks straight out of the paddock)
-leaner (pciii cleans up the low end fluff [03/28] and makes the bike like butter)
im smitten !
ese
better pics to come! the sun really zaps the crispness of my fuji finepix it seems…
Ah Esemes, it looks fantastic! I love what you did with cutting down the pipe to a more contemporary size! The whole rear end looks tight, I love the hose, race-style master-cylinder setup and the Sato hanger. Gilles chain adjusters?
Have you got a close-up shot of the rear master-cylinder hose setup please?
cleaner tailsection for sure!! (not racefit clean, but still okay, no?)
waiting on my full exhaust system (full ti and cf cone~cap TRS), and am getting mapped a week from this friday (likely with the oem header and my custom made shorty-ti trs setup!!
As usual Sir, a mighty fine bike with top mods for many to envy!! But my question is when are you going to ride her Its cleaner than mine and i dont ride it
Words cannot describe how amazing I think the new look is Ese! I remember when you said you were ‘thinking’ about a new look, but you kept it quiet and came out with that, I’m amazed! Hrm ideas
Looking good Ese, a Superbike for the street! I would say though, I don’t think the Adjuster stand jacks fit in with the look of the bike, it throws the smoothness of it all, in my opinion. You also need to paint the spindle end
I’ve said this before, but the discs looks impossibly trick! Well done!
i swapped out the red hooks for black, and think it might work better (if not, they’l both get binned)
also, im rebuilding the rotor buttons this weekend, as several werent as smoothe flowing as they should be (a bit of surface oxidation on some of the washers/shims)
once i gett these sorted, i must find a front wheel collar (the RHS spacer), as mine is missing, and presumed to be dead. i cannot ride without it, either…
it seems the front wheel collar is unique to the k5, as i have another similar spacer (i think) and it makes the wheel bind up when tigtened … guess im FUBAR’d…
ese
ps- anyone with a k5 front wheel spacer/collar (only one on the k5, sitting on the inside of the rhs forkleg)… heck, id like to just see a pic of the damn thing…
fitted some of those gilles to mine and they are real nice to adjust also i think this colour would have looked better but each to there own and it is still a very very nice bike you got there
can anyone (overseas) get me a rear axle bolt??? the us spec one is just too big, and is actually a hair too large for the gilles adjuster (it scrapes the outer frame edges…)
