Just something that was passed to me so thought I would post it here.
Thanks, though there’s no uncessary cause for concern at this time. What has come to light was that the racer who’s bike this was, stacked the bike, and the bike went into a tyre wall head-on. This isn’t as rare a thing to happen as you’d think, most spar frames fall victim to this in a head-on, as they just can’t handle that much impact energy along their length.
The frame design decends from the K4 600/750 design, which has had no such problems, so it’s unlikely there’s an issue here, but no doubt just to put peoples minds at rest, Suzuki will have the frame inspected and see if there was a possible weld defect (not impossible).
