Just made it

Left for work this morning with petrol light on thought to myself I should have enough to get to work and back , anyways 5 minutes from making it into work just stationary in traffic next thing happens bike clonks out ahh out of petrol luckily turned my head to the right and petrol station right there had to wheel bike across other side of road but could of been a lot worse and stuck on the dual carrageway , the annoying thing with my bike in particular is once your petrol light comes on you have about 3 litres of fuel left , would of been easier if my bike had the fuel gauge and tell me how many bars I had left till I fill up.

Mine has a fuel gauge and it tells me how many miles i have left in the tank

But my old bike didnt have any of these things so i can sympathise… i had to watch the miles and work out when i needed petrol…

If you’d have to fill it up later in the day, or tomorrow anyway, why not just do it when the light comes on, dont understand this reasoning you have, of ‘i’ll chance it’ …

Having had to push a rather heavy FJ1200 4 miles to a petrol station, a GS450 8 miles to a petrol station and a Sprint RS 3 miles to a petrol station I now fill up as soon as the light comes on!

I just have a compulsion to see how far I can get on a full tank…this has of course led to a couple situations where some pushing was involved but I have not learnt my lesson and still do it.

My current bike has no gauge and only a warning light so have to be very careful as to how far I ‘push’ it…

I just tend to go on the hunt for a petrol station as soon as I flip it onto reserve. Usually though I’ve planned for fuel before =P I have to reset my bike’s trip meter every time I fill up and I know when it’s about to go from that then =)
I admit I have pushed it a little bit in the past though but was lucky enough to not need to resort to pushing

i got a fuel gauge
but a sh1t bike:(

I got a sh1t bike and no fuel gauge…or speedometer or ignition keys or…you get the picture!:hehe:

Re running that low on fuel. There is an argument that any dirt in the bottom of your fuel tank will get into you carbs(?)
