Just had an awesome winter ride

On some of the most twisty roads I’ve ever ridden and it was great. The only difference is you have to plan the corners even earlier but one hell of a rush.

So get your bikes out you FWBers

Andrew, bring your bike up next time mate!

Where? Project, Rottie and I are searching for a road trip… we all got the week off

yeah i went for a blast this morning, was nice n sunny, the started raining :frowning: guys it gonna be snowing this week apparently if it isnt though gof im up for meeting up and abusing the bikes

My ol’XR is in major need of a spanner, but if y’all be out East London/Essex way…well, I guess it’d be rude not to?

I had better start making a list actually:

Clutch slippin.

Need two new tyres.

The zorst sounds mullered.

Well its just finished snowing. I’ll meet you at High Beach in 1/2 hour!

Oh! Last one there’s a ninny!!

I’m still ooop narf Drive is an ice rink

Oooh so glad not to be on the ped at the mo.

When u setting off home MM?

Prob goin’ to spend NY in Harrogate so after that. But if the roads are icey it might be on the train

I’ve just been out and about riding in London, and it’s fine, no ice as far as I can tell, just took it veerrry easy.

Well there’s two inches here and I’m not leaving today. Even my 4 wheel drive Audi will be a handful in this. Another day with the parents and another day in the Xmas sales but the bike shops in town are open and I’ve cornered my wallet so it’ll be coming with me :0

Mini-Mo if you want a lift down tomorrow mate, PM me tonight. But I guess you’re here for a few days yet… ?

andrew&7: “Well there’s two inches here”.

Yeah I only got 2 inches here too! My 2 inches do work tho!

What 4wd Audi do you have A&7? Anything tasty?

Cheers mate, I’ll let you know if I do.

If you do, Matt, does it mean I get to ride the Monster down to London?

LOL. How was your hol?

Seriously we can’t even get the 4X4 down the drive at the moment. Even funnier was the fact the doors were frozen shut. Could probably ice skate back to town though

Hols were just what the doctor, well psychiatrist, ordered! Alhambra and Seville are very impressive! As are the mountains, good biking country! It was cold in Spain, too, and the wettest Christmas for decades!

Got home to London last night/early this morning and we were warned of extreme weather on the plane!

It was weird riding to work this morning, as none of us were filtering, not even the couriers! Top speed about 20mph. Most car drivers were OK and gave us extra space but there’s always the one…

How much snow do you have up north then? If it’s less than about a metre, then it’s not real snow, just a bit of drift! That’s when even I’ll put the bike away and take a taxi to work! Either that or fix some skis on it.

Measured 3.7 inches on my wellies today on untrodden field. It’s absolutely beautiful here, blue skies and thick frozen snow on all the trees etc.

It’s the real McCoy. But everything is functioning, buses etc all running pretty much as normal.

Gonna pack and set off in the next hour.

In the words of Scott of the Antartic, “I may be some time…”

I’ve been up to Hatton Garden today. Bit slippy at times but good fun

Thought it was Cpt Oats?

Stunning here too.

Bozzy “nothing can beat riding a horse across thick snowy fields!”

Have you ever tried a tractor? They’re ace in deep snow

Well I never.

I stand corrected, and will not throw un-checked quotes around the place so freely in the future.

Oates it was.

Scott said, amongst other things (but you knew that anyway ) “For God’s sake look after our people” in his last notes.
