I’ve driven past that place a few times and been curious to see it.
If you do want a little more of a ride, up the A40 from High Wycombe to Oxford’s a nice little run. Though the A40 is less fun between High Wycombe and London I realised the hard way recently
Been there with the kids, I still have some tokens to get in as well I’ll see if I can find them and you can have them for £3 a piece. and I’ll give the proceeds to LAA
Julie and I do a nice line in haunting and are familiar with the layout and places in the roof you can hide. We are also adept at replacing the various tableaux at short notice and moving in disconcertingly awkward ways.
Our reconstruction of the crossing of the River Styx is legendary and has had reviewers in tears.
For anyone who has never been to the caves & mausoleum - you should. It’s worth the £5 and as Giuliano says the views are lovely. Anyone who came on our Treasure Hunt last year will remember it well:D
Caves open at 11am so i am thinking if we leave the Ace at 10 and take a pootle straight up there
The pace of this will not be severe
Please note this involves a lot of walking around various terrain so please bring clothing and footware that you will be comfortable in
There is a cafe on site and have been informed a garden centre close by also does nice food etc .
I don’t know how long this will take to complete
Can’t see how bad weather will affect this and hopefully if this is wet there and there a few who are willing to bring a car and carry people ( mine sadly is on sorn and out of mot ) then should be no problems
sorry i was not available for long last night but Duty called …

The cave site itself doesn’t have a very useful carpark. There’s just enough room to fit four small cars so you might find a better option is to park in the garden centre car park, (official car park of the caves I think) It is a bit of a walk though, about three hundred yards, but you’ll be doing plenty of walking through the cave anyway.
The cafe at the garden centre is better than the one at the caves, they do a fabulous hot choccie, and wonderful cakes.
It’s got a shop that sells veg, jams, organic bread etc. Worth taking tank bag/rucksack for, as well as the cafe. BUT the car park is a bit gravelly in parts.
