wot if we all get together on his route and block him in, like when the cops stop a car with 4 other cars around him, not to stopp him etc just so he cant get out the circle of bikes around him stopping at every junction, lights etc.
it would be funny watching trying to get up speed too, lol.
Totally understand the outrage fellas - but he also anchors Channel 4’s primetime news/current affairs flagship and has a direct hotline to most of the ‘great and the good’ in this country. It doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t be made to account for his shite cycling style - but he would make the inner city biking fraternity an especially dangerous enemy - just a thought.
You could just email this thread to [email protected] then they can make of it what they will. At the very least it might embarass him into being more careful out there.
It’s true Chenster mate - there are all kinds of people who want to cut our borrocks off (e.g. lower BHP, leg guards, front number plates etc) in powerful positions in the EU and govt - we’ve got more chance of carrying on in the fashion we’re accustomed to if we don’t attract attention to ourselves - that includes the accident stats - we account for about 2/3% of traffic and 25% of fatalities. The road safety lobby is strong and well organised and can’t see the point of powerful bikes and cars that can go over 70 m.p.h - they would love to have media/communication specialists like Jon snow on board.
I would certianly think about emailling his bosses…Just take a photo of him or do it on your mobile phone and send it to the papers…
I know that if I were riding the bike with my “company fleece” on so you all know who i worked for and you then called my employer to say that i was riding inappropriately or dangerously or without proper attire or disregarding road rules, I would be given an internal disciplinary…that said, I’d also get one if i were walking up the stairs without holding the rail or walking around the office with a cup of cofffe and no lid on it!
How real do you reckon the threat from do-gooding lawmakers is? There are press reports of EU initiatives etc. of course but could they come to something? I would have said no, considering the bike industry lobby, let alone how many of us ride them. But then again i could never have imagined the smoking ban in the days when smoking on top of the bus was allowed.
