I learned today that Joe Sample died on Friday. I said only in the last week to a colleague that he’s an old man and one day he will be gone forever.
I cant tell you all had saddened I am, having seen him live and listened, no, learnt from his music for many years - decades. Legacy left for us fans or not, its unimaginable he’s gone. His legacy will remain, but for me thats just not enough. Nowhere near enough.
Its funny, someone you never knew can be so big a part in our lives that they take something with them of you when they die. I wanna go on, but I’ll just say:
