Job's a good 'un

Finally finished fixing my bike with the new parts I ordered. Total cost of repair so far: £120 plus about 8 hours of my labour. Bear in mind that this is my first time ever working on a bike, and I’m not particularly good mechanically, so it would probably take an experienced person a lot less. Final work included replacement of the whole front fairing, replacement of the knee-shield on the inside, repair of the left mirror (will replace at some point in the future but for now it holds together at speed which it didn’t before), and since I had everything open anyway wiring up and fitting of heated grips (toasty!).

Lessons learned, only one really: if thou canst, avoidest thou the trim, for it is fiddly and full of tricky bits and painful scratches.

Low quality photos from phone, but hey

Well done - we’re all on a learning curve.

Good work! Looks pretty neat to me

Thanks :-). One thing I found interesting - it was clear that whoever did this last really didn’t care about putting it together properly. I took a long time, but at least I know that it is right
